Senior Accountant

SUMMARY:

Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting operations for the organization and assist the Chief Financial Officer and Controller with various projects and assignments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review of entries created by AR and AP associates.

• Review of employee expense reimbursements for accuracy and alignment with organizational policy.

• Ownership of month-end and quarter-end close procedures, including:

• Bank reconciliations.

• Pledge accruals and write offs.

• Review and reconciliation of deferred revenue and prepaid expense accounts.

• Analysis of investment activity and preparation of entries to recognize investment gains and losses.

• Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting requirements.

• Preparation of monthly financial statements with budget variance analysis.

• Act as a backup payroll preparer and processor.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary range: $70,000-$85,000

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of progressive experience as a junior/senior accountant.

• Familiarity with fund accounting.

• Experience with GL functions and the month-end/quarter-end close process.

• Advanced Excel skills, including v-lookup, sum and sum if, and pivot tables.

• Familiarity with grant tracking.

• Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or similar.

Salary:

$70,000-$85,000
