SENIOR ACCOUNTANT SEC REPORTING AND GENERAL ACCOUNTING
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports quarterly and year-end financial reporting and audit deliverables, including assisting with the preparation of Ionis' quarterly earnings release and 10-Q/K documents, related tie down procedures and XBRL review and preparation of the statement of cash flows
Supports the financial statement close process, including the preparation of journal entries
Prepares complex account reconciliations including, but not limited to, Cash, Investments, Deferred Rent, Debt, and Equity
Calculates stock-based compensation expense using Equity Edge Online
Performs lease related accounting, including implementation of ASC 842
Plays an integral role in ensuring that day-to-day controls for areas of responsibility are operating as designed and assists with overall Sarbanes-Oxley management
Stays current on technical accounting guidance, performs research and analysis on current, new or pending technical guidance as needed
Assists with streamlining processes and procedures
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES NEEDED:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business
CPA or MBA required
3+ years of experience
1-2 years of experience at a Public Company or Public Accounting Firm required
Strong understanding of GAAP
Intermediate to Advanced MS Office proficiency
Prior experience with the following software is a plus:
Broadridge Financial Disclosure Software (formerly Summit Financial/ EDGARfilings by Thomson Reuters)
Equity Edge Online
Great Plains/Dynamics 365
