What You Will Accomplish:

  • Our Illumio Finance department is looking for someone to join our world class team. We're looking for an individual who doesn't hesitate to challenge traditional thinking, pursues new territory with an entrepreneurial spirit, and committed to consistently delivering high quality work and raising the bar of what can be achieved. This position will be responsible for performing general accounting, international, account receivables tasks, and work with cross-functional team, support projects, and implement process improvements in a fast paced environment.

  • Prepare monthly reconciliation and analyses for various accounts such as (cash, prepaid, leases, accruals, AR, etc.)

  • Support and adhere to monthly close schedule by preparing accurate journal entries

  • Assist with monthly management financial packages (with analysis) and other management reports as requested (this includes understanding and clearly articulating the financial results of the company and preparing balance sheet, income statement fluctuation)

  • Coordinate and drive international accounting teams to adhere to monthly close schedule, approve international journal entries and review monthly financial package including acting as the key point of contact for intercompany cost-plus entries and intercompany accounting entries for the flow of funds

  • Perform foreign accounts payable function

  • Perform accounts receivable tasks which including invoicing, billings and cash collections tasks

  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide required audit support

  • Prepare and support tax PBC request in various area

  • Ensure all financial timelines are met in accurate and timely manner

  • Support unique business transactions and other projects as needed

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area; CPA highly preferred

  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in accounting, with track record of growing responsibilities

  • Team player who is able to work/interact with various departments and levels on a daily basis, including senior management.

  • Excellent analytic, written, verbal and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage conflicting priorities to deliver a high quality work product required

  • Highly self-motivated individual who is disciplined, detail-oriented, and works well under pressure in a fast paced deadline-oriented environment required

  • Extensive knowledge of excel, other coding experience being a plus

About the Role Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant will join our growing accounting team based in our Sunnyvale, CA corporate headquarters. The Senior Accountant will play an integral role in the monthly financial close process. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of work experience which includes accounting operations, month-end close, and managing complex projects. Experience managing infrastructure accounting is a plus. Candidate must be a team player with a positive attitude and creativity. Must be deadline and detail oriented and possess the ability to think and react quickly. Candidate should have the ability to interact with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Sales Operations, Billing, and Legal. Our ideal candidate is a great problem solver and communicator. Additional Responsibilities * Assist in the monthly close process, which includes recording and reviewing journal entries; preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and researching fluxes. * Manage the infrastructure accounting end to end processes for data centers * Monitor and analyze infrastructure and cloud hosting cost trends and forecast future costs * Coordinate audit and tax requests including preparation of supporting reports and documentation. * Complete complex research and inquiries of GL transactions and activities. * Continuously identify and develop solutions for process improvement. * Assist with accounting integration activities, which includes implementing a variety of finance and accounting related software solutions. * Assist in development and implementation of new policies and procedures. * Other projects as assigned based on business needs. What You'll Need * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. * Strong understanding of US GAAP. * 3-5 years of experience in a similar role and CPA is a plus. * Candidate should be self-motivated, able to effectively prioritize responsibilities, work within tight deadlines, and work in a dynamic environment. * Superior poise and professionalism. * Must be able to think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, be a team player, and willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances require. * Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement. * High-tech, start-up and/or rapid growth company experience preferred. * Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP functions, etc.) a Plus. * ERP (accounting software package) experience is required.
