Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to assist in overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. The senior accountant will be charged with understanding all facets of our business and will reconcile GL account balances, bank statements, and execute month-end close procedures. The successful candidate will combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough understanding of US GAAP and our Internal Reporting Approaches to help analyze financial reports, identify variances and related adjustments, and implement new procedures to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
Areas of Accountabilities
High Level Bucket of Work
Execute and scrutinize month-end journal entries and assist in consolidating financial statements.
Prepare, develop and examine monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Conduct variance analysis to determine unusual fluctuations in the current month compared to budget, 3-month trend and annual trend.
Compile materials for internal and external reporting.
Support the execution of both recurring and ad-hoc month-end close processes to ensure complete, accurate and timely financials.

Document and update policies and procedures to maintain organizational standards.
Initiate the identification of process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Collaborate in the design and implementation of cross-functional processes to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial reporting.

Assemble materials for internal and external reporting on a quarterly basis.
Contribute to the year-end audit and annual valuation process by coordinating with internal and external parties to gather requested support.
Prepare schedules and respond to inquiries from independent auditors during year-end audits.
Collaborate and execute on ad-hoc requests as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal direction
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
Attention to detail and aptitude for critical thinking
Bachelors degree related to Business/Accounting/Finance required
CPA license and public accounting experience preferred
3+ years of experience in the field of accounting and/or financial reporting required
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization and communication skills
Must have drive and desire to be a problem solver, i.e. take action to research and resolve variances
Able to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
Able to work collaboratively as part of a team, both within the finance department and cross-functionally
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Rehrig Pacific, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary is $110,000.00.
