JOB SUMMARY:
Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant. Under direct supervision of the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of functions related to the operation and administration of the Finance Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain the integrity of the Bank's general ledger system.
Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations on a daily and/or monthly basis and preparation of adjusting entries as needed.
Reconcile various daily reconciliations such as FRB, AP Expense DDA, Cashier Check DDA, etc.
Decision-positive pay exception items.
Responsible for the preparation of prepaids and accruals.
Responsible for Payroll funding and reconciliations.
Responsible for the preparation and documentation of schedules for the Bank's quarterly FDIC Call Report and Y-9.
Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable.
Serve as a backup for daily balancing & the daily financial package sent to Executives.
Assist with account research as needed and perform analysis of financial statement accounts.
Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
Ensure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures and applicable industry regulations.
Provide general support to all areas of the Finance Department and perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Understanding of GAAP.
Minimum of three years of work experience.
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication (oral and written).
Detailed Oriented and highly organized.
Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.

Salary: $64,000 - $78,000
