Our Finance team comprises of Accounting, AR/AP, Tax, Payroll and FP&A. We are the number-crunchers, the payers of all bills, the folks who take care of the finances, the analyzers who create reports at the drop of a hat for any department, and who are involved in key strategic decisions to keep the business running! About this role:

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly, quarterly and year-end GL closing and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a solid finance/accounting background, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, strong analytical, detail-oriented and problem-solving skills, and ideally a good understanding of retail business. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to details and ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment are must-haves in order to meet tight deadlines of this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and budget versus actual analyses

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management reporting

  • Prepare workpapers and supporting documents for financial statement audit

  • Review various billings and expenses to ensure proper accounting

  • Monitor and manage corporate and warehouse licensing requirements and payments

  • Monitor and improve accounting and reporting processes

  • Support initiatives of internal control implementation

  • Create and provide data and/or analytics reports as requested

  • Serve as backup to other General Accounting team members as needed

  • Perform ad-hoc projects and analyses as assigned

About you:

  • Professional Attributes/Work Ethics: strong communication skills (Oral and Written), detail-oriented, organized, collaborative, innovative, self-motivated, decisive, accountable, and committed to excellence and high standards

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting/Finance required, CPA preferred

  • Minimum five years of combined experience in public and industry accounting

  • Ability to work within tight deadlines to ensure timely completion of assignments

  • Willingness to "roll up the sleeves" and dig hard for the right answers

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP

  • Strong MS Office/Excel skills and experience with an ERP system required (Oracle, SAP, MultiView, AS400 a plus)

The Sr. Payroll Analyst will ensure timely and accurate payroll processing which is in compliance with statutory regulations while providing a high level of customer service to all employees. This position reports to the Director of Stock Programs and Payroll. Responsibilities * Process weekly payroll for US manufacturing division * Assist Payroll Manger in processing regular semi-monthly payroll for US Employees * Review preliminary payroll data for accuracy and research and resolve payroll issues to ensure all changes to payroll are processed correctly * Manage updates to payroll and payroll imports into ADP Workforce Now, including master file and pay data additions and changes * Assist in administration of the time tracking system, including but not limited to auditing timesheets, and assisting employees and managers with timesheet entry related inquiries * Calculate new hire pay, termination pay, and any required adjustment to normal pay or for manual checks * Prepare, post and balance payroll information including hours, wages, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, including direct deposit changes and tax changes * Track and reconcile sick and vacation balances * Prepare various related payroll and management reports including weekly 401(k) contribution file for timely reporting to 401(k) administrator * Partner with HR and Benefits team, Accounting, Finance, and Legal * Work closely with outside service providers, such as ADP and assist in implementation and testing of systems integrations * Serve as a backup to the Payroll Manager for the full payroll cycle and handle all key payroll processing functions * Respond quickly and accurately to employee inquiries regarding payroll/paycheck inquiries Qualifications * Minimum 5+ years of payroll processing experience, including full cycle payroll * Highly analytical and systems savvy with working knowledge of general payroll protocols, accounting principles and Federal and State wage and hour regulations; multi-state a plus * Required Skills: * Strong Excel, Word, Outlook, communication (written and verbal), and analytical skills * Advanced level experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and ADP Enterprise eTime * Understanding of imports/uploads, exports and ADP reporting tool * Experience with BambooHR a plus * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and/or equivalent combination of education and experience * Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and maintain confidential matters * Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work well under time pressure * Self-starter and ability to think outside the box * Process improvement mentality strongly preferred * Willingness and capacity for learning more * Embrace Amyris Core Values * Adherence to Amyris Safety Policies and Procedures Amyris, a leader in industrial synthetic biology, uses its innovative bioscience solutions to achieve renewable products by converting plant sugars into hydrocarbon molecules.
