Green Plains Inc. has an immediate opening for a Sr. Accountant at our Central City, NE location.

Sr Accountant Location: Central City, NE

Responsible for various daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting functions, including but not limited to review and postings of payable, receivable and payroll transactions. Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

Review and post commodity and accounts payable batches to include proper commodity settlement, receipt verification, sales tax accuracy and authorizations. Research and resolve vendor calls regarding accounts payable. Verify and apply cash receipts to A/R transactions.

Generate and print accounts payable and commodity payable checks. Prepare inventory reconciliations, month-end work papers and other month-end duties as assigned. Verify and enter daily bank transactions. Other duties as may be assigned to accomplish the safe and timely day-to-day operations within the administrative office.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Two-year accounting/business degree and 3-5 years accounting experience preferred.

We are a growth company and the second largest consolidated owner of ethanol production facilities in the world. Green Plains Central City LLC is looking for a part-time Office Assistant. Hours for the position would Monday through Friday 9:00am to 2:00pm with hours possibly changing during harvest season. Requirements Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following: * Relief at Admin desk/AP Clerk and Senior Accountant: * Admin relief: gives information to callers, greets visitors, takes information, and otherwise relieves admin of clerical work and minor administrative duties such as scanning, filing, maintaining break room, assisting with shutdown cleanup twice annually and assist with monthly maintenance inventory counting. * AP Clerk: Will be trained to be responsible for processing grain settlements, paperwork, and aid in scanning and filing of grain paperwork. Work with the grain and distiller merchandisers to get all of contracts scanned and filed to the network folders. * Senior Accountant: Scanning, filing, and light data entry and reporting for weekly and monthly reporting. Will be responsible for aiding the Logistics person with the FDA daily paperwork and distiller shipment ticket matching and processing. Requirements Qualifications: * Detail-oriented; proficiency for accuracy; dependable; positive attitude; team player * Strong MS Office experience and proficiency with developing and using spreadsheets and/or databases. * 2 years accounting/business degree or 3-5 years accounting experience preferred * Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assigned projects * Good communication skills, both written and verbal * High school diploma or equivalency with some post-secondary education in the area of accounting or business administration preferred. * One or more years experience in an administrative role in a fast paced environmentWork Environment/PhysicalDemands: * Ability to meet physical demands of the job includes but is not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, frequent computer use, frequent telephone use, some lifting or moving up to 30 lbs.
