Lumentum is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our GL Team, assisting with all aspects but will havean emphasis on the company's fixed asset accounting. The candidate will beprimarily responsible for GL Accounts including proper accounting of fixedasset cost, depreciation, retirement/disposal, transfers and reconciliation formultiple geographies. The candidate will be responsible to establish keycontrols in that area as well as closely partner with FP&A and asset ownersto ensure accuracy. Supporting ad hoc projects as required. Perform month-end close activities related to major balance sheet accounts
Collaborate with various organizations within the Company as well as interact heavily with the off-shore counter-part handling day to day transactions
Responsible for fixed asset accounting process on day to daybasis.
Oversee all fixed asset accounting transactions and relatedreconciliations.
Prepare monthly reconciliations and roll-forward for fixed assets,prepaid and accrual accounts.
Prepare audit schedules for quarter reviews and year-end audits.
Support the Senior Accounting Manager and Senior Fixed AssetsAccountant in enhancing the Company's existing accounting procedures andcontrollership initiatives and projects to enhance and automate internalcontrols and drive systems automation.
Seek opportunities to improve accounting operational efficiencyand effectiveness
Collaborate with various organizations within the Company as wellas interact heavily with the off-shore counter-part handling day to daytransactions.
Work with IT on understanding and resolving any systems issuepertaining to fixed assets.
Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting
5 years of progressive experience in accounting, especially inarea of fixed asset in a large global company or combined with publicaccounting experience, manufacturing exposure preferred, fixed assets and othergeneral accounting experience required.
Self-motivated and results oriented, a problem solver with"can-do" attitude, with strong teamwork skills and strong desire todrive changes.
Hands-on system experience highly desirable (Oracle R12) -Excellent communication (written/verbal), interpersonal, time management, andpresentation skills
