The Senior Accountant contributes toward the gathering, calculating, posting, verifying and reporting of financial data used in maintaining accurate accounting records. Maintains the integrity, reliability and timeliness of monthly financial reporting including, but not limited to balance sheets, income statements and consolidated financial information. Provides advanced technical skill and assists with the general ledger and financial reporting functions. May supervise core general ledger and financial reporting staff. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, research variances, resolve problems and conflicts and effectively manage time and any direct reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, overseeing and reviewing reconciliation preparation and investigation of unusual variances.

  • Ensures timely and accurate preparation of all balance sheet account reconciliations, resolving any account discrepancies.

  • Analyzes significant fluctuations in expense, asset or liability balances as requested.

  • Establishes, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.

  • Oversees creation of and maintains process narratives for all areas of responsibility.

  • Assists and gathers necessary information for auditors and responds to follow-up questions, as required.

  • Assists the Accounting Manager, Director of Accounting, Controller and or CFO, as required.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 5+ years of experience in increasingly responsible financial roles with practical experience in accounting, audit, financial analysis and internal controls; public accounting experience is desirable. Healthcare experience is preferred, but not required. CPA or CPA candidate a plus.

  • Demonstrated success organizing and managing multiple tasks.

  • Proven experience setting objectives and goals and re-prioritizing as needed for yourself, particularly with respect to managing deadlines.

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems and develop solutions.

  • Attention to detail to result in accurate financial reporting.

  • An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Must possess a cooperative and customer service-orientated attitude.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and be highly organized.

  • General knowledge of GAAP.

  • CPA candidate a plus

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week, onsite
