early childhood education Head Start; financial education and asset building; housing and rehabilitation services; weatherization and energy conservation programs; and affordable housing development PACE serves more than 40000 people each year with our wide scope of services with approximately 350 staff PACE is recognized as a leader in addressing problems of poverty and economic inequity in ethnic minority communities and has a reputation of being responsive to community needs and is known for creating innovative solutions to the myriad of challenges faced by our clients httpspacelaorg POSITION SUMMARY PACE is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Accountant to join the organization and team The Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Controller and other Fiscal Officers and becoming part of the accounting team which may involve but limited to grant accounting and reporting allocations of shared costs budget development ensuring compliance with Uniform Administrative Requirements and contract terms and conditions Position is responsible for monitoring daily cash flow to ensure sufficient cash is on hand Perform various reconciliations ensuring month end and year end accrual are posted to the general ledger Making sure various financial statements and grant reports are prepared accurately and timely to the funding source This is a great opportunity for those looking to enter the non profit sector or continue growth We offer good work life balance and a culture that fosters candidates who desire to learn and grow in role and with organization POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Fiscal Officer in the preparation of monthly reports to assure compliance with Federal State and contractual funding source regulationsVerify and post all transactions that are properly documented in accordance with accounting standards and government regulationsDevelop maintain and analyze budgets preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costsPrepare examine or analyze accounting records financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standardsReview accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differencesPrepare adjusting journal entriesEstablish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accountsResponsible for processing Accounts Payable invoices issuing checks and corresponding with vendors and administrative staffResponsible for bank and cash reconciliationAppraise evaluate and inventory real property and equipment recording information such as the description value and location of propertyAnalyze business operations trends cost revenues financial commitments and obligations to project future revenues and expenses or to provide adviceMay supervise and review activities and work of of accounting department staff when the Controller & Fiscal Offers are unavailable while accomplishing other critical functionsAssist in overall program accounting budgeting and financial reporting policies and proceduresAssist with contract audits corporate audits including A 133 and SEFAOther duties assigned in accountingQUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or universityAt least two years of experience as an accountantbookkeeper in a fund accounting systemProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteProficiency with Microsoft Excel is a mustKnowledge of principles published in Government Accounting manuals and familiarity with audit and reporting requirements for Federal State and local grantsAbility to work with minimal supervisionExperience with non profits and MIP Fund Accounting is highly desirableGreat communication skills is highly desirablePrior supervisor experience is preferredSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must satisfactorily pass background and employmentreference checkMust have valid Drivers License with adequate auto insuranceCOVID vaccination required;
