THE POSITION

FanDuel Group is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This person will possess excellent communication skills and high attention to detail. This Senior Accountant serves as a leader and liaison between the finance team and other internal and external stakeholders. This person will be a proactive member of the team and will help drive operational efficiencies while maintaining a strong control environment. He or she will use hands-on accounting experience and in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices.
THE GAME PLAN

Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Responsible for daily accounting activities, including but not limited to, general ledger activities, fixed assets, budgetcontrol, financial and accounting monthly reporting

  • Prepare, post and reconcile period-end closing journal entries for P&L and balance sheet accounts

  • Responsible for building and reviewing schedules, processes, reconciliations and flux analysis

  • Coordinate and process invoices and journal entries and reconcile accounts for monthly, quarterly and annual closings,

  • including P&L and balance sheet analysis for various general ledger accounts

  • Help lead the implementation of best practices to simplify, standardize and scale our business

  • Document accounting and internal control process

  • Mentor, teach and review the work of other supporting members of the accounting team

  • Coordinate and assist with requests from external auditors

  • Work effectively cross-functionally in order to prepare closing entries and to anticipate changes to processes

  • Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and

  • recommendations to operational issues

  • Identify process improvement opportunities for processes and reporting

  • Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization, and accounting activities are in accordance with GAAP.
    THE STATS

What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience required, preferably both public & private experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred

  • CPA highly preferred

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in performing all essential duties and strong attention to detail

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to various

  • levels of an organization

  • Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environment while managing tight deadlines

  • Strong Excel skills, and experience working with large data volume

  • Solid knowledge of and ability to apply US GAAP to research and solve complex transactions

  • Ability to keep and maintain confidential company data and records.

  • Understanding of US Sportsbook gaming is preferred, but not required

  • Experience with Oracle accounting system is preferred, but not required

The applicable salary range for this position is $80,000 - 100,000, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
