This position supports all functions of Property, Plant, & Equipment within the Fixed Assets team.
Maintains the general ledger of complex Sutter Health accounts as assigned, in order to prepare timely and accurate financial statements. Reconciles general ledger accounts, researches problems and questions, and prepares complex journal entries. Corrects and guides other team members as to general ledger accounts and reconciliations based on financial reviews by tax, audit, and reporting team. Communicates frequently with team leads and others to explain transactions on general ledger reports.
As a team member in Sutter Shared Services, assists in establishing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with customers to identify additional ways to be of service and ensure customer satisfaction. Maintains a positive and professional work relationship with all customers and members of teams across Sutter Shared Services.
BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related major is required.
Certified Public Accountant
Experience in general accounting as typically acquired in 3 or more years, preferably in a service delivery environment
Experience in the healthcare industry preferred
Experience in shared services/internal service delivery role preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with Lawson and working with large databases strongly desired
In depth knowledge of accounting and/or finance
In depth knowledge of financial analysis and reporting methodologies (e.g. regulatory reporting)
In depth knowledge of basic accounting principles, including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
In depth knowledge of Sutter Health Finance policies, practices and procedures a plus
Strong familiarity with Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) Chart of Accounts is preferred
Familiarity with performance metrics and ability to meet identified targets
Solid understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and shared services enabling technologies (e.g. contact center technologies) is beneficial
Ability to learn new applications/software systems effectively and efficiently
Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members to support continuous improvement
Ability to process requests consistently with high level of accuracy
