Position Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating Fathom accounting and reporting processes, including recording transactions in the general ledger, maintaining and reconciling assigned account balances, ensuring support for all transactions, assisting with the month-end close process, understanding account variances to prior periods, and preparing analysis and reports for Fathom Finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities or Essential Functions

  • Lead the Syteline ERP conversion for the accounting and reporting process and become a subject matter expert

  • Lead the transition of remote location accounting and reporting processes to Hartland, including understanding the entity's business, current processes, develop a transition project plan, and execute the migration as per the project plan

  • Prepare journal entries to record monthly transactions in the general ledger, ensuring support for each entry

  • Assist with monthly close, including completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner, reconciling assigned account balances, reviewing and explaining account variances vs. prior periods, and ensuring accuracy and completion of accounting records

  • Account for payroll and related activity and accruals, including commissions, benefits, and taxes

  • Account for goodwill, intangible assets, warrants, and equity in the consolidated ledger

  • Account for intercompany transactions between Fathom entities and reconciling each month to ensure proper elimination in the consolidation

  • Assist internal customers in researching accounting matters and ensuring the general ledger is accurately presented

  • Perform advanced analysis on accounting activity and recommend areas for process improvement

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no reports.

Preferred/Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • At least five years of accounting experience preferred

  • Demonstrated success as an Accounting Specialist

  • Working knowledge of computers and business software (Microsoft Office) and the ability to learn proprietary software; ability to operate general office equipment
