Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review and perform general accounting journal entries Perform monthly general ledger account analyses, identify and record adjustments Prepares and maintains balance sheet and bank account reconciliations Maintain the fixed asset ledger, depreciation, reconciliations and ensure all capital projects are properly recorded in the ledger. Liaison with non-accounting departments on accounting, finance and reporting related matters Review G/L coding accuracy Analyze monthly financials and explain monthly variances Ensure Intercompany activity is properly recorded and reconciled Assist with month end close process Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties as assigned by the Director, Accounting. Complete special projects as requested Assist with the documentation and testing of internal controls within the accounting department function to comply with audit requirements

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:
4 Year Accounting degree CPA a plus Minimum 5 -7 years accounting experience Must be able to prioritize schedules Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance and collaborate as part of team Ability to multi-task Excellent Microsoft Excel skills Excellent communication skills (ability to communicate both verbally and through online/email methods) Excellent organizational and time management skills Detail oriented, hardworking, and accurate

Position Summary: The senior accountant will ensure the accuracy and effectiveness in all of the accounting tasks and controls for CCG (RSD & Shared Services) and HMD. The position combines excellent analytical skills, a thorough knowledge of accounting and control principles, and interpersonal skills to analyze financial reports and forecasts, to interact effectively with internal and external auditors, and to ensure the effectiveness of controls. This person will have experience collaborating with others in a cross functional matrixed environment. Key Responsibilities: * Produce error-free accounting reports and present the results * Manage the accounting closing process and timeline for CCG and HMD * Act as point person and liaise with the Costa Rica Shared Services team * Drive analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status * Lead preparation of various monthly analysis and present results to CCG & HMD Finance leaders * Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures * Assist in leading audits (internal and external) for the business and support government reporting * Respond to audit findings during the audit and drive remediation as needed * Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls * Implement and perform balance sheet reviews at local entities to minimize audit risk * Ensure compliance with GAAP principles * Liaise with our Financial managers and Controller to improve financial procedures * Provide other ad-hoc analysis as needed * Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: * Candidate will have a proven history with financial accounting statements and experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. * The ability to make logical assumptions, incorporate external and internal information, and effectively benchmark results against appropriate baselines. * Intuition to identify and implement process improvements is strongly desired. * Strong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skills, are required.
