The Senior Accountant, reporting to the Senior Manager of Accounting, will play a key role in the Accounting & Finance team. You will contribute to an accurate and timely monthly close process, including partnering with cross-functional teams to generate accurate accruals, performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with preparation of the company's financial statements. This role will also interface with external partners such as auditors and third-party vendors to implement operational systems and support the company's growing financial reporting needs via ad-hoc analysis as necessary.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor's in Accounting or comparable business degree, MBA/MSA and/or CPA a plus.

  • You have 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, public accounting and/or biotech industry a plus.

  • You have a strong mastery of Microsoft Excel.

  • You have an innate attention to detail.

  • You can participate and work effectively on multiple cross-functional teams.

  • You play well in the sandbox. You understand relationships are key and have strong interpersonal skills.

Blueprint Medicines seeks a Senior Accountant to join the Blueprint Finance team. The Senior Accountant key responsibilities include assistance in monthly close and financial reporting processes, participation in external audit process and contributions in maintaining Blueprint's effective control environment. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and proactive individual with strong attention to detail, a sound understanding of accounting, financial reporting and internal controls, prioritization skills and a focus on client service. The Senior Accountant will work across functions and teams at Blueprint Medicines as a trusted partner to facilitate efficient communication to support the Company's financial processes. The individual should enjoy working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment. Responsibilities: * Assist in monthly close process, including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and accrual estimates and calculations * Lead and prepare materials related to monthly accrual meetings with functional teams * Assist in financial close processes associated with the Company's international locations * Participate in process improvement activities including enhancements current financial processes and the Company's financial systems * Participate in accounting for activities under existing and future collaboration agreements * Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements * Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings * Provide support for quarterly earnings release process * Assist in the maintenance of an effective system of internal controls and compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act including assistance in the management assessment certification process * Work with external auditors on quarterly reviews and year-end audit, including internal control testing * Conduct technical accounting research and assist with special projects as may arise Qualifications: * Accounting degree with CPA certification * At least 3-5 years' experience, preferably with a background in public accounting * Fundamental technical accounting skills and knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting * Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines * Strong analytical and communication skills * Well organized and detail oriented All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
