POSITION: Senior Accountant
LOCATION: Central Admin. Bldg.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Two year's experience in Governmental Fund Accounting and cash reconciliation.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Strong problem solving, analytical and judgment skills.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work in a team environment, reliable and with a service-orientated mindset.
Excellent communication and organizational skills

Performs monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts to the general ledger cash and investment accounts.
Ensures that guidelines and policies around cash processes are adequate and effective, and that such policies prevent significant errors in cash balance calculation.
Oversees SPLOST accounts and prepares monthly revenue/expenditure reports.
Prepares, input, and maintain school system general ledgers in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines.
Assures the timely preparation and submission of state and federal fiscal documents and reports as required.
Reviews financial reports for errors or inconsistencies; investigates and corrects problems.
Interprets accounting data, analyzes reports and recommends action to be taken.
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and school system regulations.
Prepares necessary journal entries and journal entry documentation.
Reconciles general ledger balance sheet accounts monthly and maintain the necessary documentation and detail supporting those balances.
Prepares accounting reports and statements such as detailed cost and financial analysis, forecasts and projections reflecting interrelationships of accounting data; prepares or assists in preparation of special reports.
Provides guidance and training to school staff on School Activity Accounts as needed.
Assists with the auditing of School Activity Accounts as needed.
Reconcile general ledger accounts for the employee payroll benefits and process regular payment of employee benefits.
Cooperates with the auditors and provides information as requested.
Keeps and maintains a listing of all the districts capital assets.
Maintains contract analysis report of SPLOST contractors and architects.
Prepares yearly unclaimed property report.
Calculates depreciation for capital assets at yearend.
Assists with the preparation of yearend financial statements.
Assists with the yearend closeout process.
Performs other tasks as tasks as the Accounting/Payroll Coordinator and CFO may assign.
REPORTS TO: Accounting/Payroll Coordinator
SALARY RANGE: Twelve-months. Grade 24, Administrative, Supervisory & Technical Salary Schedule
