Senior Accountant

Job Summary: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their small advisory firm in Davidson, NC. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in providing financial guidance and support to the company's $5-50M clients. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all accounting activities using QuickBooks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to clients.

Opportunity: Direct-Hire

Location: Davidson, NC (30 minutes North of Charlotte) - 100% Onsite

Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours a week), standard office hours with occasional flexibility required to accommodate client needs.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all accounting functions in QuickBooks for small company clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact for financial matters.

• Perform month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.

• Review and analyze financial statements to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

• Provide strategic financial guidance to clients, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.

• Assist clients with tax planning and compliance, working closely with external tax advisors as needed.

• Assist part-time bookkeeper with AP, AR, and payroll as needed.

• Stay up-to-date on accounting regulations and industry best practices, ensuring compliance and recommending process improvements as needed.

• Collaborate with other members of the advisory team to deliver comprehensive financial solutions to clients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles

• Strong technical accounting skills, with a deep understanding of GAAP principles and accounting standards.

• Experience working with clients in a professional services environment, preferably within an advisory or consulting firm.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and effectively convey complex financial concepts.

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel; QuickBooks experience preferred, but not required.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
