CW1 is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant with growing FPA skills to be located in one of its three primary office locations: Vineland, New Jersey; Louisville, Colorado; or Grain Valley, Missouri. The Senior Accountant is responsible for and will support many aspects of the accounting function for the Velocity Dynamics, LLC ("VeloDyne") division. This position reports to the Financial Controller with significant direct interface with the CFO. The successful candidate will initially be involved primarily in accounting related activities but is envisioned to grow to include higher level analysis and forecasting functions.

Essential Job Functions

  • Calculation of sales commissions both internally and externally based on review of as sold projects and commission plans.

  • Generate short term cash forecasts based on planned receipts and payments.

  • Work closely with accounts payable and credit and collections to ensure accuracy of cash forecast.

  • Create various AP accrual items and associated journal entries and account reconciliation.

  • Reconcile all inventory accounts and investigate any significant variances.

  • Ensure all intercompany transactions are recorded on a timely basis and that intercompany accounts remain in balance.

  • Analyze and adjust various accrual and reserve accounts.

  • Generate monthly reports related to bookings, backlog, and inventory.

  • Manage various expense allocations.

  • Assist AP by investigating and clearing daily positive pay exceptions.

  • Assist with budget preparation by establishing schedules, and collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.

  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Prepare short- and medium-term cash forecasts and communicate working capital matters.

  • Support annual financial audit requirements and deliverable, and support other external audits required for insurance and banking compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum five years' experience as staff or senior accountant in relevant industry position and/or history of progressive career advancement.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP accounting fundamentals accrual accounting.

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, project-based business, and percentage completion accounting a plus.

  • Analytical ability, critical thinking/problem-solving skills a must.

  • Successful candidates should be a strong self-starter, and confident in their business acumen.

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.

  • Previous ERP/MRP experience a plus. Previous experience with Made2Manage, extremely advantageous

  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.

  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are required on a daily basis.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to perform work in a sitting position for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.
