About the role:

We are hiring a Senior Accountant who will be an integral part of our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP and consumer tech startups, and will be highly analytical and able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This role will also be critical in the creation and implementation of accounting best practices across our global marketplace.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the month-end close procedures including preparation/review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Assist in implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls under SOX and ensuring compliance under US GAAP

  • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, both domestic and international

  • Review all GL entries for accuracy and ensure proper accounting

  • Handle incoming invoices, obtain necessary approvals, and faciliate payments to vendors

  • Lead the design and scaling of revenue accounting and revenue recognition

  • Reconcile and review monthly corporate cards and employee reimbursable expenses

  • Maintain and process payroll including new hires, terminations, rate changes, etc.

  • Liaise with external auditors on the preparation of schedules for the annual audit

  • Identify and implement solutions to improve financial reporting through automation

  • Assist with actual vs budget reporting and monthly variance analysis

  • Assist and manage various ad hoc finance and accounting projects

What we hope you'll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance and/or accounting (Master's degree in accounting preferred)

  • 3-5 years of public accounting or progressive accounting experience at a startup

  • CPA license, with a strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals and the most up-to-date reporting standards

  • Experience with consumer tech or online marketplaces is strongly preferred

  • Strong analytical skillset with excellent attention to detail

  • Proven ability to lead the implementation of new accounting processes

  • Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment is a plus

  • Experience with Quickbooks & Expensify is a plus

  • High integrity with a strong work ethic

Sr. Accountant – General Accounting and Internal Controls role at GuidePoint Security LLC ('GuidePoint') has the responsibility for moderately complex accounting activities related to the preparation of the Company's financial statements, utilizing independent judgment and discretion. This position performs various general ledger account analyses and reconciliations. This is a remote position and candidates can sit anywhere throughout the United States. Roles and Responsibilities: * Performs moderately complex financial statement closing procedures, journal entries, and account analyses and reconciliations, ensuring the activity and balances are adequately documented and substantiated; * Ensures that accounting transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger and that affected accounts are reconciled; * Researches and recommends solutions to accounting transactions, variances, discrepancies, and reconciling items, ensuring resolution is timely and complete; * Develop process and maintenance of month-end accruals as needed; * Assists with various internal and external reporting packages; * Responds to inquiries and provides support to external auditors in support of annual financial statement reviews and other special projects as necessary; * Prepares government reporting request as needed; * Develop, maintain and improve processes and controls associated to general ledger and financial statement closing procedures; * Work with leadership as needed on ad hoc reports as well as help reconcile financial reports between various systems such as NetSuite, SalesForce and Open Air * Other duties as assigned Experience Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required, or equivalent in work experience * 5-8 years demonstrated experience working in general accounting, reporting, and cross team collaboration. * Excellent communication, analytical and reasoning skills with a high confidence in stating professional opinions required * Knowledge of ERP and accounting systems; experience with NetSuite ERP and SalesForce is highly desirable * Process design and development experience preferred * Attention to detail is a must Possesses the ability to self-manage and adapt to changes, delays, or unexpected shifts in priorities while maintaining focus and productivity in a fast-paced environment * Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex business processes Why GuidePoint?
