The accounting roles within the General Accounting Team (Record to Report) in Tampa will provide support to North America based business units as well as some global functions. The Record to Report team partners with Accenture as an outsourced service provider for most general accounting activities accordingly many aspects of the roles will require interaction with and review and management of work performed offshore by Accenture.

The successful applicant must possess an extremely high attention to detail and be able to work collaboratively with key internal and external customers. They will need to demonstrate flexibility, be open-minded and adaptable to changing business needs and requests. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to critically think and interpret complex financial information, have a commitment to improvement and learning. The candidate must have ability to manage multiple tasks, be well organized, and have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding deadlines. Strong project management and leadership skills are very desirable. Strong, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are vital. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and work with minimal supervision. The position requires remote management of Accenture resources and in-market stakeholder interaction

  • Lead the implementation and execution of Assistant Controller model for the Canadian market. Developing analytics and monitoring program ensuring accurate financial statements including Quarterly Balance Sheet Fluxes and applicable statutory reporting. Manage relationships with the Canadian market leadership ensuring all above market close tasks are completed within the close schedule and issues are communicated.

  • Lead budging and forecasting of fringe benefits for all US company codes

  • Ensure Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations completed by Accenture and by BMS Finance are of high quality to ensure key controls supporting Balance Sheet processes are operating effectively

  • General Accounting Subject Matter Expert for business units or Corporate functions based in the US. General accounting activities relate to managing the month end close, preparing and approving Journal Entries; performing balance sheet account analysis to ensure appropriate reported balances and to provide support for quarterly earnings releases and 10Q filings; and completion of complex account reconciliations.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.

  • CPA required; MBA a plus.

  • 5 years diversified experience in accounting or finance preferred

  • Public accounting with a big four firm or Internal Audit with large Corporation a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP is required.

  • SAP and Hyperion experience is a plus.

Perform all tasks associated with the general ledger, i.e., enter/review/post monthly journal entries and execute monthly/year-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. * Own the month end close checklist to ensure accurate completion per the month-end close schedule and report to management periodically on roadblocks being encountered during the close window. * Evaluate subsidiary journals for obvious errors and omissions and enter corrected data into the general ledger. * Analyze, reconcile and review general ledger accounts according to prescribed form and content. * Develop and maintain a proper system of internal controls to ensure timely and accurate financials. Make recommendations to senior management for improvements in internal controls. Enforce the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) process, procedures and approvals required at the plant locations. * Review and document current accounting practices and procedures. Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity. * Review, redesign and/or identify additions or deletions to accounts in the general ledger to ensure that the information reported properly reflects the company's financial position. * Prepare/review monthly account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts. * Prepare required governmental reports and respond to inquiries i.e., sales-use taxes, and surveys. * Assure fixed asset physical control and accounting for the plant locations. * Develop and maintain knowledge of all accounting related software applications. * Perform monthly variance analysis to prior periods and budget and send comments to management and divisional finance. * Support plant operations in monthly accruals, inventory, costing, and capital expenditures. * Lead ad-hoc projects to improve the accuracy of the financial statements and create a more efficient and collaborative environment. Projects can include implementing reconciliation software, assisting with new ERP conversions, due diligence on acquisitions, and creating processes and policies for other teams to follow. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, post-bachelor education is preferred. * Current CPA license is required * Either 4+ years of public accounting experience, or 7+ years of general accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. * Working knowledge of ERP systems, including full-cycle accounting. * Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion and initiative. Strong analytical skills are important to be able to analyze information and provide recommendations to GBS Accounting Manager and other members of senior management.
