As the Senior Accountant, Collaborations and Revenue, you will be responsible for the accounting related to our collaboration arrangements and commercial revenue, including order to cash (OTC). You will be a key member of a growing cross-functional accounting team, focused on implementing complex collaboration agreements and innovative commercial contracts. The roles and responsibilities will include, performing monthly, quarterly and annual closes to ensure that revenue is accurate and complete, coordinating the preparation of schedules and reports to support external audits, invoicing customers, executing appropriate control procedures, applying cash receipts to outstanding AR, and ensuring timely billing of revenue on all third-party strategic collaboration arrangements. This role will also be responsible for compiling reporting needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, in addition to ad-hoc requests as required to address business needs and new opportunities.

About the role:

Collaboration Accounting

  • Account for collaboration revenue by ensuring accuracy of accounting and reporting in accordance with US GAAP, including ownership of our proportional performance models

  • Partner with Technical Accounting team to document accounting methodology for arrangements with our third-party strategic collaborators including collecting relevant information from business partners and collaborators, recording and reporting related financial information

  • Prepare accounting workbooks ensuring collaboration terms are appropriately mapped

  • Generate collaboration invoices on a quarterly basis

Product Revenue Recognition and Order to Cash Management

  • Responsible for executing revenue recognition policies and procedures

  • Carry out established policies and procedures related to credit limits, payment terms and allowance for doubtful accounts, partnering with Treasury and other teams where necessary

  • Support commercial sales and collection activities, and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset to enhance the process beyond launch

  • Maintain existing necessary Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to oversee the status and performance of the OTC process, including DSO, Ageing and other collection trends

  • Prepare monthly reporting by country, region, product, or other, including DSO calculations and provide explanation regarding changes from prior months

  • Generate customer invoices as needed

Close Process and Reporting

  • Reconcile accounts receivable aging monthly to the general ledger, settling unapplied cash balances timely

  • Generate commercial revenue invoices monthly and collaboration revenue invoices quarterly

  • Provide insight to SEC reporting counterparts and be responsible for updates in external reporting documents (10-Qs, 10-Ks, etc.)

  • Perform and provide updates to key controls, creating and maintaining review and other checklists as needed

  • Ensure the operating effectiveness of internal controls supporting the collaboration and commercial revenue and OTC processes

Business partnering

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all business units (Commercial team, FP&A, Procurement, Accounting, Supply Chain, Alliance etc.): resolving open questions in a timely manner, ad-hoc projects, and process improvements

  • Partner with business partners to execute collaborations with strategic partners, including billing third-party strategic collaborators

About you:


  • Requires minimum 3 years accounting experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

  • Pharma/biotech industry preferred

  • Revenue, order to cash, collaboration accounting and accounts receivable experience preferred

  • CPA or similar accreditation is desirable

  • Intermediate level with Microsoft Office Products required, experience with Oracle preferred
