Senior Accountant

As the Finance Senior Analyst of Supply Chain, you will be a key member in supporting Best Buy's Supply Chain business reporting under Capabilities & Growth Controllership and Operations. Best Buy's Supply Chain consists of three main areas including the warehouse buildings, transportation, and fulfillment. You will primarily support the warehouses, working closely with business partners to provide controllership support and GAAP expertise. This position is a fantastic opportunity for those seeking to work with a growing and constantly evolving area of the business that is responsible for the movement and distribution of the company's inventory from purchase or delivery from our vendors through the time it reaches our customers.

This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you'll do

• Support the month-end accounting close process, including the preparation of journal entries and P&L variance analysis.

• Maintain integrity of the financial statements for the area through proper accounting policies and procedures applied on a consistent basis.

• Analyze and communicate results and risks to cross-functional partners and senior leadership.

• Partner with Supply Chain and Financial Planning & Analysis business partners to provide accounting guidance and treatment in support of ongoing business operations and new initiatives, documenting, when necessary, through creation of a policy or position memo.

• Drive transformational financial and accounting process improvements and enhancements through automation, leveraging tools such as Alteryx, PowerBI, and Power Automate.

• Conduct asset analysis for changes in the Supply Chain business including relocations, building repairs and new initiatives, as well as working with the fixed assets controllership team to place new assets into service.

Basic qualifications

• 1.5 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance capacity

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Preferred qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance

• Experience with Oracle and/or OneStream

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities/projects

• Strong communication and organization skills
