General Summary:

Astronics Test Systems is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to learn and perform the monthly accounting close in Intuitive system.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities in concert with Sr. Accounting Manager:

  • Reconcile month end inventory accounts

  • Prepare and post accounting close journal entries

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations.

  • Understand Job Cost (@ standard) vs. general ledger

  • Prepare monthly financial statements: Income statement and Balance sheet

  • Understanding of applied and unabsorbed Overhead

  • Support the Corporate Tax Department with operational data

  • Fixed Asset Maintenance in SAGE

  • Supervise preparation of weekly delinquent accounts receivable report

  • Prepare monthly departmental expenditures and variance analyses to plan.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automated accounting systems.

  • Familiarity with aerospace or defense industry accounting practices or manufacturing experience.

  • CPA or working towards CPA

  • Big 4 audit experience

  • Computer Skills:

  • Excellent computing skills: EXCEL, WORD, accounting software, E-mail.
