Job Summary

The Senior Accountant and Treasury Analyst will be responsible for supporting daily and month-end accounting operation covering treasury accounting, member accounting, general accounting, and cash flow forecasting. This role directly supports the VP & Treasurer and provides support to the Treasury and Member Accounting departments. The Senior Accountant and Treasury Analyst will provide technical accounting support for the treasury, member accounting, and hedge accounting processes and aid in the development of cashflow forecast, accounting controls and procedures, including process redesign and streamlining.

Essential Functions

• Perform and responsible for daily and month-end accounting and reconciliations of all general ledger accounts that are under Treasury team's responsibilities, including, but not limited to cash, member payable, member accounting, members' equity, and hedge accounting, investigate and resolve any discrepancies as needed.

• Provide advanced technical accounting support and guidance to the Treasury department and Member Accounting department team members.

• Design, streamline, and develop effective reconciliation and accounting processes to enhance the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of daily and month-end reconciliations and month-end close.

• Develop and enhance cash flow forecast model.

• Develop other financial models to support the Treasury's team overall goals.

• Develop treasury reports for the executives and finance committee.

• Prepare monthly journal entries, including researching accounting guidance and solving complex accounting transactions such as hedge accounting; ensuring the Company's book are in compliance with GAAP.

• Responsible for handling complex accounting transactions and provide advanced technical accounting support to the Treasury and Member Accounting team to ensure GAAP compliance and enhance the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of month-end and year-end financial reporting as well as audit readiness at all times.

• Responsible for the success of the monthly close process the annual audit preparation and completion.

Qualifications

• Advanced analytical skills and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced finance and accounting experience.

• Advanced in General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Advanced in financial statements preparation and accounting and financial modeling.

• Advanced in accounting reconciliations and complex accounting transactions.

• Advanced knowledge of accrual processes.

• Excellent organizational and follow through skills.

• College-level verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate with upper management on a daily basis.

• Self-starter with an ability to meet tight deadlines and complete monthly close tasks in a timely manner.

Education and/or Experience

• A BS degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA is preferred.

• Minimum of five years related accounting experience is required.

• Advance computational skills required.

• Proficient in MS Excel and other MS products is required.

• ERP system experience preferred.

Language Skills

English is required as the spoken language. A well-modulated tonal volume is required with excellent diction skills needed. This job requires frequent communication with personnel in other CDI locations, including office personnel and external consultants. Senior Accountant and Treasury Analyst must be able to communicate effectively and concisely any issues relating to the duties assigned.

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.

• The Senior Accountant and Treasury Analyst must be able to analyze variances as the result of the daily and monthly reconciliations and obtain explanations for each variance, i.e., logical thinking.

• The monthly variance analysis must be done on a timely basis to ensure timely monthly financial reporting (Senior Accountant and Treasury Analyst will have to follow up on pending issues to make sure all variances are adjusted prior to month end closing).

• The Senior Accountant and Treasury Analyst must be able to develop financial model to support treasury forecasting and treasury reports.
