A nonprofit organization in downtown Los Angeles is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for operational accounting, as well as forecasting, financials, and budgeting. Additional duties may include:

  • Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • An endless desire to improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Administer monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

  • Prepare monthly consolidated P L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

Requirements: - QuickBooks experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is required

  • Prior work done in public accounting is desired

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of hands-on involvement with accounting processes and financial analysis in a large company and possess advanced Microsoft Excel and solid ERP systems skills. This advanced Senior Accountant will collaborate with team members and must take ownership of assigned tasks to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. The position reports to the Manager and will interact with various members of senior management. This role offers great experience for professional growth in corporate financial accounting. <br /> <br /> RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> <br /> Account Analysis: <br /> • Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules for various P&L accounts <br /> • Provide variance explanations for changes in account balances and for special projects <br /> • Ensure timely preparation of journal entries for monthly close, including supporting documentation <br /> • Respond to inquiries from internal accounting counterparts <br /> • Assist in the preparation of audit work papers for semi-annual audits (June/December) <br /> • Prepare non-income tax forms for city/state tax and census forms <br /> Corporate Overheads: <br /> • Assist with monthly corporate overhead preparation, to include calculation of corporate overhead cost allocations across departments <br /> • Support in preparing and analyzing monthly internal management reports for review by senior management <br /> • Work on various complex financial models for calculating recoveries and capitalization of corporate overhead costs <br /> • Support in quarterly corporate forecasting and annual budget processes <br /> • Collaborate with the team on systems implementations, testing and process improvements <br /> • Assist Manager and Director of Finance on special projects <br /> <br /> QUALIFICATIONS <br /> <br /> • 7+ years of corporate accounting and financial analysis experience <br /> • Education - 4 year college degree with emphasis in Accounting/Finance <br /> • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with senior management <br /> • Proficient in Microsoft Excel at the advanced level (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).<br /> • Experience with the JD Edwards and TM1 systems is preferred <br /> • Able to work independently (self-starter) and collaborate with team members when needed <br /> • Experience with analyzing and interpreting financial reports and legal documents <br /> • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in analysis <br /> • Knowledge of policies and practices associated with payroll and benefits administration <br /> • Must work effectively in a deadline driven environment to prioritize assignments <br /> • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions <br /> • Possess a strong combination of accounting, financial analysis and technical skills <br /> • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records<br />  <br /> Email your resume for immediate consideration for this great position!!<br />   Targetcw Los Angeles, CA
