We are a full-service health care advertising agency. We are searching for a senior account supervisor to join our Chicago office and act as the link between our clients and the agency. Responsibilities include coordinating between the client and other agency staff to manage advertising campaigns, as well as working closely with clients throughout campaign development and execution on a daily basis. The ability to manage administrative tasks and campaign work, ensuring that all is completed on time and on budget, is key. This role can involve handling multiple client accounts and will report to an account director.


  • Meet and interact with clients to discuss and identify their advertising needs
  • Work with agency colleagues to devise an advertising campaign that can execute on the clients strategy and aligns with their budget
  • Work with the account director to brief media, creative and digital teams; assist with the formulation of marketing strategies
  • Project management responsibilities include adherence to project scopes, budget and timeline development, and routing projects to ensure positive project results
  • Write client conference reports, status reports and other client correspondence
  • Engage with clients independently on tactical initiatives
  • Successfully build relationships with both clients and internal partners
  • Undertake administrative tasks
  • Schedule and attend meetings
  • Some travel may be required



  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in advertising, communications or marketing
  • Four to seven years of previous agency experience required
  • Health care experience preferred, but not required
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, energetic and professional in demeanor

VIEW JOBS 5/21/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-08-19T00:00 Senior Account Supervisor (SAS) – Corporate Storytelling The Senior Account Supervisor (SAS) is responsible for managing her/his project teams' performance as it relates to client service and quality control. S/he will understand Edelman's various Communications Marketing processes/approaches and capabilities, including public engagement, media outreach, message workshops, master narrative assignments and brand engagement and be able to recommend appropriate tactics to clients and lead teams on project implementation. Key to this role will be the ability to lead strategic communications programs and planning with a focus on thought leadership, media relations, executive visibility and corporate storytelling. The Corporate Storytelling team is part of the larger Corporate Communications Marketing practice at Edelman and works with a variety of fortune 1000 clients. This SAS will be the day to day lead on a variety of clients and programs. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Leads research, planning and development of comprehensive of integrated Communications Marketing campaigns with a specific focus on thought leadership, media relations, executive visibility and corporate storytelling * Oversees account team work quality and operational performance, ensuring deadline adherence, reaction to industry trends and ensuring plan execution maps to client objectives within budget * Serves as daily client contact, working to develop a strong partnership rooted in open dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect. * Experts on the client business, products, competitive set, and priorities * Demonstrates superior collaboration with internal agency departments, working to create strong and seamless integration across disciplines and bringing the right holistic thinking and offerings to deliver against client goals • Sets and leads media relations course, including outreach plan creation, executive thought-leadership planning, drafting of materials, event management, growth of contact network and effective pitching and training of spokespersons on speeches and presentations * Effectively collaborates with integrated agency partners. * Champions integration of teams; uses and becomes one of Edelman's network resources to meet client goals * Helps set client program goals, manage against them, and lead development of integrated recap reports against set goals * Effectively presenting the agency's recommendations and point-of-view to clients with excellence. * Responsibility for the development of direct reports that includes: Ensuring that every direct report has a development plan, monitoring their performance in context to the development plan and providing feedback in a timely manner. * Own presentation preparation – ensure that all materials are correct and submitted by partners/departments on time and supervise creation of deck * Oversees quality and operational performance of accounts, developing and managing clear program timelines and ensuring work follows Edelman/client process standards * Elevates problems to superiors and solicits counsel when needed and appropriately * Demonstrates proficiency in writing skills to craft internal and client correspondence, communications plans, press materials, client presentations, etc. as well as is able to successfully present POVs and work to gain internal and client alignment. * Builds network of industry clients and participates in relevant professional organizations and networking activities that will grow Edelman brand recognition and own reputation * Assists with the development of accurate project budgets using the firm's financial system, working with internal discipline partners to manage projects within budget parameters * Tracks and monitors project financials (e.g., budget vs. actual), manages day-to-day client budget issues to resolution, helps ensure teams follows Edelman's financial policies and processes, and supports internal Edelman finance and forecasting work * Manages down, across and up by working closely with integrated team and by ensuring senior team members meet approval deadlines and stay on track with deliverables * Commits so continuous learning and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, working to understand how they integrate into Communications Marketing programs * Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Edelman's values, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Basic Qualifications * At least five years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields, including research, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing Preferred Qualifications * At least six years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields, including research, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing * A bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university * Proven Ability to manage large projects, as well as teams, on multiple sizable accounts * A comprehensive understanding of his/her clients' businesses and their missions, as well as their key stakeholders: consumers, employees, investors, regulators, media, vendors, partners and other businesses/organizations, etc., and will be able to impart this knowledge to account team members * Excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to delegate tactical assignments and accurately judge and edit work of others * Familiar with best practice integrated Communications Marketing tactics and tools and will be able to recommend them to his/her clients * Experience in one or more of the following areas: Executive Positioning, Thought Leadership, Corporate Media * Able to manage and inspire a team and to make sound judgments on a daily basis, knowing when to seek senior counsel * Corporate Communications experience within an agency environment * Experience in the Automotive and/or Transportation Sector is a plus * Proven expertise leading global communications programs Edelman Chicago IL
