Edelman's Integrated Business Marketing team is a group within the Edelman Chicago Corporate Affairs practice focused on driving results across earned, owned, social and marketing solutions for B2B brands utilizing a mix of communications and marketing strategies.
We work closely with our clients to drive awareness for companies, products and leadership through earned media, owned content, executive visibility, social media, and B2B marketing to engage key audiences and customer targets by driving engagement our client's brand. Our clients are across the gamut from enterprise technology, B2B, manufacturing and corporate brand, from start ups to early stage to Fortune 100 private and public.
The senior account executive is an integral part of the Integrated Business Marketing team, serving as a direct contact for clients and driving work across work streams, accounts and Edelman offices. Working closely with staff at all levels, the senior account executive must be a relationship builder, mentor and coach as well as exhibit strong working knowledge of overall communication strategies and tactics with strong media relations and writing skills.
Specific responsibilities include:
Lead media relations program across enterprise tech, security, telecom, and consumer tech accounts both locally and across the Edelman network
Contribute to creation of integrated B2B marketing and communications plans that meet client business objectives
Help plan and coordinate programming that integrates paid, social and owned media efforts
Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence
Build relationship with clients, media and colleagues at all levels
Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content
Adapt seamlessly to evolving client requests
Effectively drive and manage projects across work streams, accounts and business units
Supervise junior staff by motivating, coaching and consistently providing feedback
Aid in new business process including idea contribution, research and proposal preparation
Commit to continuous learning; set and pursue stretch goals
The senior account executive must have two years of relevant experience in enterprise technology/B2B marketing communications or a related field.
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Proven experience in working with enterprise technology and B2B brands, particularly in the security and telecom space
3 plus years working with enterprise tech trade and business media
Exhibited ability to work on multiple accounts, assignments and/or work streams across small or medium-sized projects simultaneously
Ability to develop communications plans and implement public relations tactics
Demonstrated ability to impart knowledge to more junior team members
Strong research, writing, editing and client interaction skills
Perform well under pressure and be a team player
Natural curiosity and willingness to dive into various roles on client work
