Job Description: AIM photonics is looking for a Semiconductor Equipment Technician who will be hands-on in the maintenance and smooth operation of advanced semiconductor assembly equipment. AIM Photonics is headquartered at NY CREATES Albany Nanotech Plaza in Albany, New York.

The AIM Photonics Test Assembly and Packaging facility (TAP) is new state of the art electronic photonic packaging facility in Rochester, NY. Photonics is an exciting area which is crucial for fast data demands by everyone. Photonic packaging is 90% of the cost of photonic products and can be a differentiator in the success of the final product.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The candidate will be in charge of installation, set-up, operation and upkeep of equipment to ensure machines are well maintained and calibrated. Equipment includes wafer saws, bonders, dispensers, additive printers, and others.

Work in cleanroom to ensure machines to assemble optoelectronic packages for customers of AIM Photonics are running smoothly. Provide training and technical support to others including customers and help achieve builds using optimized operation procedures, avoiding equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize equipment down time and ensure positive customer relations. Troubleshoot and service equipment with help from factory.

Work with factory during installation and to perform repair maintenance or unit replacement independently or with equipment vendor. Identify and report equipment errors and status updates related to equipment performance issues to aid in troubleshooting or maintenance. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and provide periodic reports.

The candidate must have discipline to observe safety rules, procedures; have good attention to details as well as have good organization skills. Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum 3 years of experience in equipment engineering in semiconductor or electronics assembly line. Associate degree, Technical degree or higher Proficiency in equipment troubleshooting and reading schematics.

Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and assembly drawings. Strong trouble shooting skills. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to multitask and work on several projects at a time.
