Semi Skilled Operator TMP

Overview

The TMP Semiskilled Operator works as part of the Thermal Metal Processing Department (TMP) operating the Shotblast, Mill Flat, Shear Boss and Strapping Machine and inspecting parts to tolerance. TMP Semiskilled Operators machine and inspect forged metal parts.

Major Position Responsibilities

• While operating the Shotblast equipment, constantly bends to white light cavities and regularly gages cold forgings. Constantly rolls shells and stands shells on tables. While operating the Mill Flat, constantly moves pieces into and out of the machine.

• Is required to use a calculator for determining percentages and ratios and must be familiar with computers to create graphs. Reads written instructions and follows verbal instructions.

• Works with and follows work instructions, PCRs, basic rules of manufacturing, ISO documentation, quality policies, and other work-related policies.

• At all times demonstrates common safety practices associated with the manufacturing environment and the use of hand or industrial equipment. Follows the 5 S's by routinely sorting, setting in order, shining up, standardizing, and sustaining the work area.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma

• Basic math skills

• Ability to operate machinery effectively and safely as required

• Ability to work independently
