Semi-Skilled Laborer

Assists craft workers in performing related duties under direct supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

Other duties may be assigned. Assists craft workers in Labor Department. Assists wrapping and insulating steam and water pipes in tunnels and classrooms.

Assists in brushing or spraying water proofing on bricks or cement. Helps put caulking in joints, cracks and around windows to seal against water or air leaks. Assists cement finisher, masonry workers, landscaper and floor covering installer by performing heavy work such as lifting, carrying, digging and demolition.

Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
