This position exercises a high level of leadership in managing the programs for self-insurance, partial, and divided coverage programs within the Workers Compensation (WC) Division. The position develops program policy and procedure, reviews the financial analysis and recommendations of staff, provides training and direction to staff performing financial analysis and/or reading financial statements for data entry and performs the most complex and difficult risk analyses.

This position requires the ability to travel occasionally to employer worksites throughout Wisconsin.
Due to the nature of this position, a criminal background check may be required prior to appointment.

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience performing tasks related to the following:
Researching, analyzing and interpreting complex written materials (e.g., federal or state legislation, regulations or administrative code, advisory or policy documents).
Analyzing financial data and reports (e.g. balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, annual reports, market data, or similar).
Communicating professionally with a variety of audiences about technical topics.
Well-qualified applicants will also have:
Bachelor's degree or higher in public policy, finance, business, law or similar.
Experience assessing impact of proposed law changes.
Experience in the insurance industry, particularly any experience with self insurance or wrap up insurance.
Experience managing a program (e.g. setting program goals, developing policies and procedures, evaluating program effectiveness, or similar).
