Job Description:

Position Overview:

Are you prepared to be enabled with the most relevant hardware and software in the Security Industry? Does your drive for success include personal development of engineering, technical and project management knowledge?

  • The Security Technician Position is mid level career position responsible for customer satisfaction.

  • The primary goal of the position is to provide high level technical support, programming and commissioning of Siemens and third party security systems.

  • The position is responsible to the Field Supervisor. The Field Supervisor includes QA/QC of rough-in, installation of devices and final terminations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site field activities to include programming, startup and final commissioning.

  • Assist less experienced employees in their technical development.

  • Assist is supervising lower level employees and subcontractors.

  • Provide exceptional customer service.

  • Participates in sales to operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout.

  • May participate in initial job site walk through with contractors and/or building management.

  • Analyzes plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to determine project requirements and risks; provides value engineering ideas and details.

Required Knowledge/Skill, Education, and Experience:

  • Required Education - High School Diploma

  • 3+ years experience in the installation and programming of Security systems

  • Technical Proficiency (Oregon State LEA License Journeyman)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without a need for current or future sponsorship.

  • Must be at least 21 years old to participate in required Siemens vehicle plan, and must have a valid driver's license in good standing.

  • Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.

  • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds and high-lift equipment as well as working in ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.

  • Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire.

  • Must be able to use hand-tools.

  • Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.

Position Overview: * Our Oregon office is currently searching for a Security & Fire Technician II to join our service team. * Reporting to the Service Operations Supervisor, this position provides technical service to customer Fire Safety systems including technical support during the installation and commissioning of new or expanded systems. Job Duties: * Coordinates with contractors in the process of installation of systems sold by a branch office. * Performs system commissioning on systems including loading software programs and implementing modifications as necessary. * Conducts testing and inspects systems under maintenance agreements. * Responds and carries out to completion any troubleshooting and repairs to assigned customer systems. * Ensures company-owned test equipment and installation equipment is in proper working order. * Returns equipment in need of repair or calibration to the office in a timely manner. Identifies code issues and non-conformance issues. * Makes recommendations regarding both systems installations and service contract facilities. * Reports daily on activities completed, deferred, requiring further action or material. Participates in On-Call assignments/ schedules as required. * Acts as a mentor and provides on-the-job training to lower level Field Service Technicians as assigned. * Coordinates with contractors in the process of installation of systems sold by a branch office. * Performs system commissioning on systems including loading software programs and implementing modifications as necessary. * Conducts testing and inspects systems under maintenance agreements. * Responds and carries out to completion any troubleshooting and repairs to assigned customer systems Conducts on-going system operation training for end user customers. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education: * A.S. degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent experience in the installation and maintenance of low voltage electronic systems. * 2+ years in the installation and maintenance of Fire Safety products. * Oregon LEA License (or equivalent Hours to Test Out) * NICET II Fire Alarm Certification required (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology) within 24 months of hire. * Strong customer service skills. Good verbal and written communications skills. * Skilled in the PC applications and in the use of word processing and spreadsheet programs. Ability to lift seventy-five (75) pounds unassisted. * Must have valid state drivers license and must be at least 21 years of age in order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan * Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
