Security Systems Technician

PROFILE:

We are actively searching for a Security Systems Technician and offering up to a $3,000 signing bonus for qualified candidates. Do you have networking and computer skills experience with the desire to work in the commercial security, video surveillance, access control and other commercial/ industrial low voltage systems field? If so, this may be the perfect role for you.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Install conduit, cabling supports and pathways for indoor and outdoor rated wiring and cabling systems

• Install, terminate, and test security system wiring and data cabling

• Mount security panels, hardware and devices to surfaces and rack spaces in a clean and professional manner

• Supporting the foreman with loading equipment

• Checking equipment inventory

Required Skill/Abilities:

• Experience implementing local area networks to include wireless technology using multi-operating systems and platforms.

• Network and computer trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills required, including knowledge of networking, theory, principles and practices. Specific knowledge of TCP/IP and Windows Server.

• Mechanical ability to work with locks and mechanical devices.

• Knowledge of telecommunications systems is helpful.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required and/or trade school is a plus

• 1-2 years of related industry experience is a plus

• Valid drivers license

• Able to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician license as required. Paid for by ARK.

Physical Requirements:

• Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs

• Must be willing to work at heights

• Must be able to operate electrical tools

• Must be able to differentiate color coding of cables

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at time
