Summary:
Primarily responsible for installation of low voltage electrical systemsincluding Fire Alarm, Security Alarm, CCTV, and Access Control systems. This is a hands-on position requiring amechanical/electrical aptitude coupled with excellent communication,organization, and customer service skills.

PrimaryFunctions:

Fire Alarm Systems Installation& Service: 45%

  • Mount low voltageelectrical devices/panels

  • Program and test FireAlarm Systems panels

  • Read wiring diagramsand systems blue prints to assure proper and safe installation

  • Run and install wiresper manufacturer specifications and code

  • Manager the installationjobsite in an efficient and safe manner

  • Perform on-sitetroubleshooting when necessary to complete the job

  • Complete necessarypaperwork in an accurate and legible manner

  • Provide customer withbasic panel/system operation training

  • Complete NFPA certificationand life safety testing

Security, Access Control, & CCTVSystems Installation: 30%

  • Work with customers toidentify necessary and desired system components

  • Manage system inventoryand materials

  • Read wiring diagramsand systems blue prints to assure proper and safe installation

  • Up-sell products tomeet customer needs/wants

  • Mount low voltageelectrical devices & panels

  • Run and install wiresper manufacturer specifications and code

  • Complete necessarypaperwork in an accurate and legible manner

  • Perform someself-training to complete quality installations

  • Perform on-sitetroubleshooting when necessary to complete the job

  • Provide customer withsystem operation training

Job, Vehicle, & Work OrderManagement: 15%

  • Complete on-siteevaluations

  • Negotiate with businessowners, contractors, & homeowners

  • Manage contractorneeds/requests

  • Make installationadjustments as needed

  • Assure that allinstallation requirements are met

  • Work efficiently andutilize resources to complete jobs in a timely manner

  • Keep work truck cleanand organized

  • Perform basic vehiclemaintenance

  • Manage inventory andtools for each job to assure proper parts and tools are on hand

  • Work with generalcontractors and/or electricians when necessary to finish a job

  • Keep job site clean,organized, professional, and safe at all time

On Call Duties: 10%

  • Perform emergency callson fire & security systems

  • Take customer calls 24hours/day while on call, answering and responding to calls in a timely manner

  • Conduct emergencyassessments and return systems to proper operational status immediately

  • Provide excellentcustomer service

GENERAL: Always

  • Be on time and ready towork when scheduled

  • Complete all duties asassigned by management in a timely manner

  • Complete necessarypaperwork in an accurate and legible manner

  • Perform emergency callson fire & security systems

  • Take customer calls 24hours per day while on call, answer and responding to calls in a timely manner

  • Negotiate with businessowners, contractors, and homeowners

  • Work independently, andbe able to adapt to the physical environment to complete jobs safely andcorrectly

  • Communicate clearly andprofessionally to customers, co-workers, and contractors

  • Drive company vehiclein a safe manner from branch location to jobsites

Knowledge,Education, Licensing, and Experience

Requirements:

Required:

  • HighSchool Diploma or equivalent is required

  • Vocationaland/or Technical School: ElectricalSystems Technology diploma/degree + 1 year experience OR

  • Minimumof 3 years field experience in Low Voltage Electrical systems is required

  • Mustbe well versed in the safe use of general hand tools and power tools

  • Musthave or be able & willing to attain state Fire Alarm License

  • ActiveDriver License, in good standing required

  • Mustmeet safe driving policy criteria to be an active company vehicle driver

Preferred:

  • PriorFire Alarm panel program experience is highly preferred

  • Priorlift training and/or experience is highly preferred

  • Knowledgeof construction site and workplace safety practices is highly preferred

  • Experiencewith multi-meter, man-lift operation, use of computers, and compass software ispreferred

Ability Requirements:

  • Mustpossess strong organizational skills

  • Mustbe able to exercise effective time management skills (prioritize, work on atime line)

  • Musthave a strong mechanical and/or electrical systems aptitude

  • Mustbe able to install low voltage/alarm electrical systems to manufacturerspecifications

  • Mustbe able to work well in a team environment

  • Mustbe able to use a computer effectively to perform programming of panels

  • Mustbe able to recognize alarm sights and sounds

  • Mustbe able to understand and interpret codes and standards.

Physical Requirements & Exposures:

  • Mustbe able to lift a minimum of 100 pounds

  • Mustbe able to carry 50 75 pounds repeatedly

  • Mustbe able to push greater than 75 pounds as needed

  • Mustbe able to pull greater than 75 pounds as needed

  • Mustbe able to safely climb a ladder and reach a height of at least 12 ft.
