Security Systems Design Engineer

Position:Senior Security Design Engineer
Location:
Austin and surrounding region
Travel: Allowance and reimbursement provided
Pay Rate: $90K to $100K+ based on experience and certifications

Summary:

A leader in Security Integration industry has an opportunity for a Security System Design Engineer to cover the Austin and surrounding areas. If you're looking for the opportunity to create detailed parts lists, labor estimates, scopes, system overview drawings, and acquiring bid pricing for the largest projects in the area, this could be the opportunity for you! The position requires site visits, assisting sales in proposal presentations, and some local travel.

Responsibilities:

• Design fully integrated security solutions.
• Generate documentation through site visits with Sales and subcontractors.
• Assist sales in end user proposal presentations.
• Assess sites to develop requirements and define challenges.
• Develop project design and material list.
• Assist in the creation of project scope of work.
• Support multiple project and client deadlines and deliverables.
• Create design parameters including wiring diagrams, site equipment layouts, mounting details, and computer and network specifications.
• Assist in presenting design to customers and/or decision makers.
• Work with design and operations team for project implementation.
• Evaluate new industry products and re-evaluate current supported products.
• Keep current with training and certifications.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in the security industry.
• Network and IT knowledge.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project, and other Microsoft products.
• Access Control Certifications in Genetec, Software House, ProWatch, and/or Lenel OnGuard preferred.
• Video Management Certifications in OnSSI, Milestone, and/or Genetec preferred.
• Experience in network design and implementation standards.
