Role Description:

The Systems Security Administrator is responsible for working with our development, project management and infrastructure teams to develop and maintain good security policies and practices. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing compliance requirements using our in-house security compliance tool maintained by the Corporate Security Team

  • Implementation of changes to meet compliance requirements

  • Developing, managing and maintaining a security plan and security policies

  • Conducting automated scans of systems and applications using security scanning tools

  • Providing guidance to project development teams on matters related to information security

This role will also assist our existing Systems Administrator when needed with provisioning, configuring, monitoring and maintaining infrastructure. This includes workstations and servers on a small office network as well as servers in remote datacenters and/or the cloud. It is important that applicants understand Windows-based operating systems, virtualization, and modern DevOps tools and concepts. The right candidate works well with small teams, is self-motivated and can take ownership of processes as needed. Qualified candidates should have advanced knowledge of web application security, understanding of network security and some familiarity with pro and software development principles.

Core Skills:

  • Windows Server 2008/2012 Security

  • Windows Server 2008/2012 R2 Management

  • Web Server Security

  • LAN/WAN Networking Security

Requirements:

  • In-depth experience managing and securing Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher

  • Client computer and OS security, primarily Windows 10

  • Strong understanding of web server (primarily IIS and NGINX) security, management and configuration

  • Strong understanding of LAN and WAN networking principles

  • Comprehensive knowledge of networking and web protocols, including HTTP and DNS, and network traffic management and routing protocols

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired Skills:

  • Security auditing and vulnerability scanning (NetSparker and/or Nessus)

  • Experience providing technical security advice

  • Configuring and supporting security tools for monitoring application and network traffic

  • Conduct security audits and make policy recommendations

  • Knowledge of load balancers, preferably F5

  • Experience with Cisco switches and firewalls

  • Linux server and web server (Apache, NGINX) experience

  • Experience with cloud computing, Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS preferred

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. in Information Science/Technology, Computer Science or related degree desired.

  • Candidates should also have 5+ years of experience in network and system security and/or system administration or a related roll.

Hours and Location:

  • This is a salary position, full-time M-F (with some the possibility of some on-call weekend work) on site in Harrisburg, PA
