Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource base located in White Pine County of Nevada. It's workforce comes from Ely, Eureka, Elko, and Spring Creek area. It is the newest mine in Kinross' portfolio and was acquired in January 2016.Position SummaryPosition will be responsible for developing and implementing mine site security policies, processes and procedures in accordance with the Global Security Standardization Program.The selected professional will be in charge of providing leadership to all day-to-day security activities and support mine site operations by performing on-site supervision of security officers and ensuring site coverage at all times.The position will report to the mine site Security Superintendent.Job Responsibilities*
  • Adherence to Global Security Standardization Program * Ensure all site security processes and procedures are in compliance with the GSSP. * Conduct mine site security vulnerability assessments in conjunction with the Security Superintendent. * Responsible for security reviews, audits and effectiveness self-assessment. * Implement the Site Security Plan (SSP) and Security Event Response Plan (SERP) document for use during normal operations and emergencies. * Responsible for coordinating performance tests and corrective actions plans in accordance with the GSSP. * Incorporate the Voluntary Principles on Human Rights and Security into all security functions. * Other various duties upon request.Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements * Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. * Minimum 5 years of professional-level experience in the security industry, law enforcement or military. Prior experience working at mining sector highly desired. * Understanding of operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures and MSHA requirements. * Experience in security operations including communications, access control, closed circuit television systems, patrols, etc. * Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. * Establish and maintain good relations with internal and external public, and promotes positive attitudes, safe work practices and adherence to company standards. * Ability to prepare objective and concise reports in neat.
