Provide security guidance and administration for daily program operations and activity to include the submission of program deliverables

  • Ensure compliance with applicable government and company regulations

  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures specific to meet program requirements

  • Assist in preparing and presenting program status and reviews (internal and external)

  • Administer security indoctrination briefing, debriefings, and refresher briefings

  • Personnel Security (i.e., submitting program access requests; maintaining billet plans and personnel folders)

  • Conduct annual self-inspection and participate in compliance reviews

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Addendums, and Operation Security (OPSEC) Plans

  • Maintaining Security Databases

  • Perform duties as an Alternate Facility Security Officer

  • Develop solutions to program challenges and resolving other related program security issues.

  • Other security related tasks (i.e. visitor control, conducting parcel checks, assisting with alarm testing, assisting with annual Security Education, Training and Awareness (SETA) Program, etc.)

  • Conduct investigations into thefts, insider threat concerns, etc.

VIEW JOBS 3/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-15T00:00 Description The City of Norfolk's Department of Human Services is seeking to fill a Youth Detention Specialist II positions for the Juvenile Detention Center. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the safety, security, control, custody, care, and discipline of residents in secure detention. Maintains facility safety by stringently adhering to Juvenile Detention policies, procedures, and security measures within the facility. DEPARTMENT HIRING SALARY RANGE: $34,445 - $39,612 Essential Functions Essential functions include but are not limited to: * Maintains safety and security by supervising youth, monitoring security cameras, responding to violent situations, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, and maintaining behavioral norms for residents utilizing accepted behavioral management principals. * Interviews, screens, and counsels juveniles for admission into detention program; conducts orientation into detention. * Documents activities in a daily log, records, and prepares reports for the courts: trains college students, testifies in court, and transports residents to and from activities and appointments. * Serves as med-aide in the clinic; distributes and supervises the consumption of medication and documents as appropriate. * Performs searches, monitor showering activities, and resident sleeping rooms. * May perform control room duties. * Performs other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human services, criminal justice, or related field, or an associate's degree and two (2) years' experience working with youth; or a high school diploma or a General Education Development Certificate (GED) and four (4) years' experience working with youth. Additional Information & Requirements * Valid Driver's License. * Must have a favorable background check results (including criminal, driving and Central Registry (CPS) along with negative drug screening results. * Must be able to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR, Handle with Care Restraint and Medication certification. * Must have the ability to work any shift (days/evenings/midnights) including weekends and be available to work overtime when required to meet operational needs. * Consideration for an interview is based solely on the information provided within this application.
