Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

GS-05: Three years of general experience, one year of which was equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-04) or equivalent. General experience may have included performing highly structured work assignments of limited difficulty combined with training that familiarizes the employee with functions and operations of the organization.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

GS-07: At least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-05) or equivalent. Specialized experience which included performance of developmental assignments of moderate difficulty where work as signments consisting of a series of specific and related tasks have been selected to orient the employee in the basic principles, concepts, and techniques of the security administration occupational field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1.Knowledge of basic principles of Security Administration or related field.
2.Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally, and in writing.
3.Ability to learn basic techniques in Security Specialist.
4.Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gathers pertinent data and recognize solutions.
5.Ability to plan and organize work, and consult effectively with co-workers.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

TS/SCI/Polygraph clearance is required. Job Title: Security Specialist Location: Fort Meade, MD Job Description: The candidate will support Deloitte's compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICD's) and other government and firm security policies and procedures. This qualified candidate is an experienced security professional within the GPS Security office. The primary responsibilities are to perform standard and specialized personnel security (PerSec) processing and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) operational duties in support of NISP-related classified, Intelligence Community. The individual will perform timely and accurate operational and compliance support, facilitate processing of Personnel Security clearance actions as required throughout the personnel security lifecycle including Special/SCI access processing. The position offers an opportunity to work within a team environment and continue to build a career in the Federal Security profession with exposure to all security disciplines. The position will require application of regulatory knowledge and experience governed by the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Director of Central Intelligence Directives/Intelligence Community Directives (DCID/ICD), and agency-specific regulations and programs. Primary Duties & Responsibilities of this position: * Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) access control * Badge Systems management, creating badges, auditing and maintaining access control logs * Initiate, prepare, and submit required personnel security applications (initials, and Periodic Reinvestigations) for access to National Security Information and Intelligence Community programs to include eQIP, SF86, and other agency-required paperwork; * Support GPS Security personnel security mission to include daily database entries, including but not limited to: status checks in JPAS; monitoring and queries associated with ensuring our cleared personnel databases are in synch with current employee status; notifications to newly cleared personnel; maintaining personnel security records and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within internal database * Acts as the quality control specialist for personnel security paperwork, ensuring all packages are accurately completed and ensuring any required/associated documentation is included.
