Security Solutions Architect

Job Summary

Serves as the lead architect for the information security program and the liaison between information security group and information technology architecture teams, ensuring that information security principles are embodied in corporate business and technology strategies; researches, analyzes, designs, proposes, and prototypes solutions to protect Aflac's information assets while supporting business and technology strategies; holds technical ownership of Application and Technology portfolio as it relates to security. Additional responsibilities may include participating in development of technology roadmap, identifying key interfaces and components impacting security posture, proposing changes to application frameworks to enhance security, and identifying security gaps in existing architecture and opportunities for improving architectural security posture; performs systems analysis and design, system modeling, integration planning, and technology and component selection to ensure architectural consistency and coherence between technical and business processes.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Provides architectural oversight to security engineering projects and architectural support for other information technology projects

Works closely with corporate architecture teams to ensure that security strategy and corporate information technology strategy are complementary

Participates in technical and business discussions relative to future security strategy; aligns architectural strategy with business goals and emerging threat landscape; represents information security on all relevant technology governance committees

Serves as business architecture subject matter expert for information security team; coaches peers and constituents on integrating security into strategic and tactical decisions

Researches and evaluates software/hardware products and industry trends to assist in project development and operational support activities

Analyzes the current architecture to identify weaknesses and to develop opportunities for improvements such as enhancing authentication and reducing attack surface

Participates in development of security technology roadmap and technology strategy for the information security organization

Ensures that new initiatives and solutions support established security principles; integrates security requirements into architectural requirements and framework strategy

Analyzes and evaluates current and proposed corporate application portfolio to validate enforcement of security principles, identify integration issues, and recommend adjustments to controls framework to maximize controls effectiveness

Assesses the security of network and/or platform facilities; works with appropriate teams on LAN/WAN designs and architectures by reviewing and recommending end-user, topology, physical, security, performance, and interoperability requirements

Works with security engineers to develop effective security principles and technical standards

Develops and presents "white papers" on current and future technology trends and their impact on the security of the enterprise

Performs other related duties as required

Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or a related field and ten or more years of experience in multiple IT areas and two years of relevant security architecture experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Advanced or expert knowledge and understanding of multiple IT areas (networking, software, data, internet, operations) or security architecture and core business functions

Experience developing architecture in support of relevant regulatory and industry compliance frameworks (HIPPA, GLBA. PCI, etc.)

CISSP Certification (preferred)

Our Security Solutions Architects (SSAs) are on a mission to help our customers develop operational capabilities and program to leverage the power of the market leading SOAR platform, Phantom. Our experienced security practitioners collaborate with our customers' security leadership, engineers, operations teams, incident responders, and threat intel teams, to help them use the capabilities of Splunk's security offerings and achieve success. Working together with experienced Security Solution Engineers, they help the customer realize the true potential of the Phantom platform. We are looking for architects who can help our customers realize the potential of our Security Automation & Orchestration platform. As a trusted advisor & mentor, you will help customers in their use case identification, implementation planning, mentoring and training, and development of playbooks that leverage their IT security tools, skills, and infrastructure. Responsibilities: * You will work directly with Enterprise customers in a wide range of industries including Financial Services, Healthcare, Insurance, Technology, Energy, and Government. * Lead customer relationships, ensuring that we deliver successful customer outcomes. This includes helping the customer identify roadmaps and develop their expertise and knowledge of Phantom and other Splunk security products. * This role also includes defining requirements and working with Splunk's Security Solution Engineers to develop innovative integrations and playbooks. * You will be the voice of the customer to Product Marketing and Engineering, enabling them to respond to real world customer demands and capabilities. * Train and mentor security leaders and managers, security operations teams, threat intelligence groups and incident responders. * Actively participate in the Splunk Security and Phantom Community as a domain authority, presenting in forums, online and at conferences. Requirements: * Deep knowledge and experience in Security Operations Centers, Incident Response, Architecture/systems engineering. * Dynamic consulting skills and broad exposure to IT security technologies. * You should have an understanding of software development standard methodologies to identify requirements and guide Splunk's partners and the solution engineering team to develop new apps and playbooks.
