Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Oversee that all aspects of the security function on-site is performed in a diligent manner (staffing, scheduling, and on-site training all G4S personnel assigned to his/her site)

  • Ensure that contract-required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met

  • Provide direction to Shift Supervisors, Sr. Leads, and other contract Security Officers to ensure compliance with established corporate policies in order to maintain continuity of operations throughout each shift; monitor work procedures and schedules for employees assigned at each location

  • Monitor the proficiency of security officers to operate a computer programmed entry system consisting of access alarms, card readers, automatic gates, turnstiles, recording devices, and video surveillance systems

  • Maintain overtime to a minimal or preset requirement designated by G4S

  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel and their job performance when assigned to his/her shift

  • Perform other operations and related functions (e.g., payroll, review and maintain incident reports, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders)

  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct supervision

  • Monitor and ensure quick response to medical emergencies and perform basic lifesaving measures, CPR, First Aid, and additionally perform basic fire fighting duties

  • Develop and periodically review and record post instructions, notification lists, logbooks and incident reports from Security Leads and Officers; ensure all mentioned records are up-to-date and makes appropriate changes

  • Monitor calls for service and direct activities during fires, storms, or other emergencies to ensure plant security and personnel safety

  • Review incidents reports sent to management for information and corrective action; provide statistical analysis of incident reports to management

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Pass any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following:

  • Service in the active duty military, military reserves, or National Guard

  • Service in the Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets

  • A minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience

  • Associate's degree or higher in any discipline

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Active listening skills

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

  • Attention to detail


  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher

  • Must be a citizen of the United States (pursuant to Federal Aviation Administration Regulations)

  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public

  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law

  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
