Security Shift Supervisor

Supervise, lead and manage Campus Safety and Security Officers during assigned shifts. Assign tasks, monitor progress and ensure completion.

Train, motivate and mentor department employees to thoroughly understand all of their duties and responsibilities. Must be willing to work routine patrol and other duties as assigned. Identifies and reports unsafe conditions on campus, handles emergencies and other inquiries for the department.

Reviews daily events list, making sure all signage and unlocks are completed as needed. Needs to be a self-starter, have a strong work ethic, and possess excellent writing, analytical, and investigative skills. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.

Supervisory Responsibility Full Supervision of other non-supervisory employees. May share some responsibility for employment decisions with higher level management. Minimum Qualifications Education:

Ability to successfully complete NIMS (National Incident Management System Training), NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control, Crowd Management Training. Years of Experience - (required or preferred number of years and in which specific areas) Preferred 10 years of security experience in a full-time role, or other relative work experience in either law enforcement or professional fire service. Certification and/or Licensure Valid driver's license, ability to pass a level four security clearance, ability to acquire NYS Security Guard License.

Working Conditions / Physical requirements May encounter exposure to inclement weather for substantial duration, exposure to hazards associated with campus grounds. May be subject to physical exertion consistent with security guard duties.
