JOB SUMMARYSecurity Shift Managers provide work direction to Security Officers and Supervisors and assumes responsibility in the absence of the Manager.


  • Adheres to department service standards of being attentive, professional and having a quick response.

  • Responsible for assisting the Security Manager with hiring, interviewing and organizing training to maintain adequate staffing.

  • Develops staff, interviews, hires, and evaluates. Delegates authority and assign responsibilities.

  • Responsible for observation and evaluation of guests who may be intoxicated.

  • Investigate incidents and/or customer complaints, compiling data for accurate reports to the Gaming Commission and department heads.

  • In the absence of the Security Manager, the Security Shift Manager assumes overall command and control of the emergency response procedures, including response drills and evacuations.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 3 + years of experience in security, surveillance and patron/property liability of high volume business or industry.

  • Ability to perform multiple assigned duties under frequent time pressures

  • Valid state driver's license.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state gaming license.


  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Frequent pushing, pulling, bending and walking.

  • Intermittent sitting at a desk or company vehicle.

  • Work area is both indoors and outdoors and subject to variable temperatures.

  • May be subject to smoking environment, moderate noise and bright lights.

JOBSUMMARY: * Manages Security department during assigned shifts. * Directly supervises the Security Supervisor. * Enforces MGC regulations and upholds internal control regulationsconsistently. Monitorsexclusion list and ensures effective enforcement where appropriate. * Operates motorized vehicle, i.e. company vehicle, valet cars. * Accountable for service goals/objectives as wellas customer complaints/claims in valet. * Perform all duties as outlined in the security officerjob description. * Performall duties as outlined in the security dispatcher job description. * Performall duties as outlined in the security drop officer job description. * The term "management" includes duties such asinterviewing; training; selecting and adjusting rates of pay and hours ofwork; directing the work of employees; maintaining production; appraisingemployees' productivity and efficiency for purposes of recommendingpromotions or other changes (evaluations); handling employees' grievances andcomplaints; disciplining employees; planning work; providing for safetyand security; and monitoring or implementing legal compliance matters.
