Summary:

The Badge Administrator is responsible for creating all hospital employee, medical staff, resident and fellow, student and contractor photo identification and security badges, creating and assigning security card access levels, and troubleshooting security badge issues. This position is also responsible for responding to all badge access requests, providing weekly badge access reports to various departments and also assisting security management with various projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for photograph employees / staff and create security badges in the security card access system to include: inputting and updating of information, importing and exporting cardholders photos, creating, modifying and assigning card access levels to badges, encoding badges for Omnicell and other systems utilized by HID security badges and attending volunteer orientation on a monthly basis to take pictures and create volunteer badges.

  • Responsible for photograph employees / staff and create security badges in the security card access system to include: inputting and updating of information, importing and exporting cardholders photos, creating, modifying and assigning card access levels to badges, encoding badges for Omnicell and other systems utilized by HID security badges and attending volunteer orientation on a monthly basis to take pictures and create volunteer badges.

  • Responsible for promptly responding to user requests to include: providing support to employees and staff with badge requests, verifying requests for badge access and assigning access levels as needed, troubleshooting security badge issues and running weekly badge access reports.

  • Responsible for the enforcement of policies, rules and regulations to include: verification of employee / contractor government issued IDs before issuing security badges, communication of current badge access and parking policies, monitoring parking access, maintaining the Access Authorization list and updating Badging Procedures Manual.

  • Assist with departmental special projects to include: maintaining the vehicle parking database, assisting security management and HR with investigations by providing reports, and ordering department specific supplies as needed.

  • Ability to meet physical and non-physical demands as outlined in the job description is an essential function of the job. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned and assists other Security Systems personnel with placing service calls on security equipment as needed.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.

You may be required to float occasionally to other Children's Health locations including Dallas, Plano and THD Clinics.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years Experience as an administrative assistant Required

  • At least 2 years Experience administrating security card access system software Preferred

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional training beyond high school Required

  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience Preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Texas Department of Public Safety
  • Private Security Bureau

  • Basic Non-commissioned Security Officer training and certification within 14 days of employment Upon Hire Preferred

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements Required
