Position Description:

Delegata is looking for a full-time Security RFP Technical Writer to join our Sacramento-based team. The primary responsibilities have two components.

o Information Security: Interpret security policies, standards, and other requirements as they relate to internal information security systems for the client (and into the developing RFP document). Provide highly specialized experience in one or more information, computer, or network security disciplines (e.g. penetration testing, accreditation, or risk assessment and mitigation).

o Technical Writing: Possess knowledge and experience in message delivery and development, communications, attention to detail, collaboration, data gathering and analysis, planning and prioritization, leveraging technology, excellent clear and concise writing and grammar skills. Analyze existing and potential documentation content; produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience. Research, develop, write, edit, and proofread complex technical documentation and supporting material for software, hardware, technical procedures, security, and computer related services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience with Information Security, RFP Production, Security Architecture, Technical Writing, or combination thereof

  • 2+ years of information security analysis

  • 2+ years performing IT technical writing (experience can include being in a position as a specialist or research assistant in a technical field)

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate complex Information Technology (IT) and Security concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff

  • Ability to draft and revise documents including policies, standards, analyses, and reports for RFP solicitation

  • Demonstrated knowledge on Information Security concepts and best practices (standard methodologies used in certification and accreditation process)

  • Extensive experience following NIST guidelines in risk assessment and management

  • Experience writing technical RFP for state government (State of California preferred)

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of network security protocols

  • Experience identifying compliance requirements and conducting related analyses

  • Security certification

  • Experience in developing security plans, certification and accreditation reviews, analyzing and establishing processes for comprehensive systems and data protection

  • Experience in assessing and mitigating system security threats and risks

  • Experience performing security audits, evaluation, risk assessments and making strategic recommendations

  • Experience managing, supporting, installation, and maintenance of security tools and systems and tracking security patches and incidents

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS in an IT-related or Engineering field

  • Security certifications preferred

Responsibilities: * Create and evangelize web security assurance framework as part of SDLC * Work with Information Security architect to evaluate the risks of vulnerabilities discovered during application penetration tests and work with business owners and engineers to reduce the risks. * Provide deep technical understanding of common security vulnerabilities and risks, as well as countermeasures and compensating efforts. Interpret attack vectors and critical gaps in existing features/functions, then design and drive mitigating features * Act as subject matter expert on information security across business units. Review all projects related to sensitive data passed to client applications and/or authentication and data access controls. Identify, measure, and report on security and privacy risks, including for: * User identification/authentication processes, balancing ease of use with protection * API security * Encryption * Internal policies/procedures (QA/Staging policy, etc.) * Analyze and report on effectiveness of security policies and practices * Help GMs and product managers prioritize roadmap items in order to balance security and business risks. * Help drive policies and procedures to protect against exploits via social engineering and other internally informed exploits, working cross functionally with operations and engineering teams.
