Opportunity Overview

  • Member of the HQ Operations team on a specific shift

  • Receives and responds to routine, urgent and emergency calls for service from the Security Control Center (SCC); remains highly visible in the assigned work area

  • Responds within established quality standards; completes patrols and assignments in a timely manner, and coordinates a rapid response from HQ Operations team members

  • Stands posts, screens access, provides escorts and conducts security foot and/or vehicle preventative patrols

  • Responds to and maintains current and accurate knowledge of emergency procedures (i.e. fire and security alarms, severe weather and earthquake); reacts to medical emergencies; provides emergency first aid and assists EMS

  • Conducts inspections/testing of safety and security-based equipment

  • Performs motorist assists

  • Communicates with the SCC and other members of the HQ Operations team using hand held VOIP radios

  • Prepares dashboards and reports for trending and analysis of data to keep the organization informed, improve performance and ensure efficient use of resources

  • Assists in development and implementation of security initiatives, processes and programs

  • Actively participates in self-development. Attends training; maintains job-specific certifications, actively participates in field or classroom training exercises and meets or exceeds minimum training standards

  • Accountable for submitting accurate documentation; uses correct forms, writes legibly, uses proper spelling and grammar and submits timely, accurate, understandable, and error-free information

  • May be called upon to assist in the SCC

  • Authorized to carry a pistol to safeguard persons on Edward Jones premises

Position Requirements

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required. College degree in related field preferred.

  • Ability to obtain a valid Security Officer License and if armed, must be authorized to carry a pistol through a valid armed security officer license an valid Concealed Carry Permit, or Law Enforcement Safety Act certification.

  • 5-years of armed experience (police, military police, security).

  • Valid driver's license.

Functional/Technical Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of security patrol operations and the Security field is required.

  • Effective written and verbal communications

  • Must have knowledge acquired through previous experience, certification or specialized training in patrol operations.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical ability to observe and report

  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors

  • Must be able to spend large part of day in an active role standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs

  • Must be able to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency

  • Must be able to successfully participate in all firm required training and successfully demonstrate the application of non-lethal and lethal tactics, protocols, and procedures

Qualifications: Must possess strong organizational, analytical and attention to detail skills Must have the ability and prior experience with analyzing information technology security events to discern events that qualify as a legitimate security incidents as opposed to non-incidents. This includes the identification of malicious code present within a computer system as well identification of malicious activities present within a computer system and/or enterprise network. Must have experience working with a ticket management system to collect, document and maintain information pertinent to security investigations and incidents Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability produce clear and thorough security incident reports and briefings Must possess experience in monitoring the operational status of monitoring components and escalating and reporting outages of the components Must possess a working knowledge of the various operating systems (e.g. Windows, OS X, Linux, etc.) commonly deployed in enterprise networks. A conceptual understanding of Windows Active Directory is also required. Must possess a working knowledge of network communications and routing protocols (e.g. TCP, UDP, ICMP, BGP, MPLS, etc.) and common internet applications and standards (e.g. SMTP, DNS, DHCP, SQL, HTTP, HTTPS, etc.) Must have experience working with various event logging systems and must be proficient in the review of security event log analysis. Previous experience with Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) platforms such as Arcsight, that perform log collection, analysis, correlation, and alerting is also required. Must have experience with the identification and implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls for deployment and implementation in the enterprise network environment Must possess experience in collecting and maintaining information pertinent to security investigations and incidents in a format that supports analysis, situational awareness reporting, and law enforcement investigation efforts Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree (in Engineering, Computer Science or related field) or equivalent Certification: Requires a CND-IR certification (CEH Preferred) Clearance Requirements: Top Secret with SCI Years of Experience: 1-3/3-5+ years of experience working in a network security operations center environment performing security event monitoring and analysis Hours: CSOC Shift 2 ( M-F 1400-2200est) Security Requirements: An Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
