The Security Operations Director guides the Church Education System (CES) Information Security Operations Center (SOC) in the identification of and response to security incidents at BYU, BYU-Idaho, and BYU-Hawaii. In this position, you would serve as the senior incident handler and manage information security monitoring, incident investigations, escalation, and final resolution, and manage a team of both full-time and student security analysts. To fulfill these responsibilities, you would draw on your experience as a security professional and your knowledge of industry best practices and university policies.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Required: Bachelor's degree (preferably in management information systems, computer science, or comparable field) plus 4 years' experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CISSP certification required.
Supervision experience required (full-time or part-time). Functional or department management experience strongly preferred.
Skills, Abilities, or Knowledge Needed:
Knowledge of and experience with system audit, profile review, and regulatory controls, such as Payment Card Industry (PCI), FERPA, HIPAA, and GLBA
Demonstrated skills in pen testing and forensics
Skill in and knowledge of role-based access methodologies
ITIL Foundations knowledge and skill
Mastery of security monitoring, incident response, and forensic analysis
In-depth understanding and experience in network and firewall technologies and management
Ability to define security policies and procedures for all Information Technology ("IT") resources
Excellent employee management expertise and experience
