As a Court Trainer, you will be responsible for the training all new hires assigned to the Courthouse in court procedures and duties per post orders. This position will ensure that such training meets or exceeds requirements set forth in policy, contracts, and applicable laws. This person serves as the onsite Field Training Officer for all matters relating to the protection of client's company and customer assets, as well as the safety of all associates and visitors to the facility, The Court Trainer is also responsible for refresher training, other required training of existing officers, and the re-certification of FA/CPR/AED qualifications. This position will perform other duties as required

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Conduct training for incoming personnel on site protocols , policies and job duties according to the post orders

  • Assemble training programs specific to local customer needs and ensure proper training records are maintained

  • Oversee the re-certification of First aid/CPR and AED for Court Security personnel

  • Prepare reports as required and provide assistance to site visitors and client employees in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Assist in ensuring the facility meets all federal, state and local safety regulations and client safety and security policies and procedures

  • Implement emergency action plans and schedule emergency evacuation drills

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must possess, or be able to obtain a Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL)

  • Must be able to pass any state or site required training

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Law Enforcement, Corrections, Military Police, or Court Security

  • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a trainer/instructor capacity

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Active listening skills

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States

  • Must be able to work flexible schedules and respond to work assignments with little to no advance notice

  • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors

  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public

  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law

  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold/heat

Major activity: Working on PC, walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
