A summary of the specific skills, knowledge and behaviors of this position are: Provides security for residents, associates, and visitors; protects facility buildings, assets, and premises as assigned.
Secures building to maintain a safe environment for residents, associates, and visitors. Locks/unlocks all outside doors at established times as measured by resident/staff feedback and supervisory observation. Makes periodic tours about building/grounds, examining doors, windows, and gates to see that they are properly secured as measured by resident/staff feedback and random supervisory observation. Performs periodic checks of weather conditions, and during periods of winter storms/alerts, performs snow removal and applies de-icer at doorways and entrances as measured by supervisor observation. Secures and/or unlocks offices and facilities and turn on and off lighting at designated times, according to facility policy. Responds to inquiries for advice or assistance from facility personnel, residents, and visitors as per department policy. Delivers packages, newspapers, etc., to specific departments/residents as required. Inspects parking lots to ensure the safety and security of parked vehicles reports parking violations and abandoned vehicles as per departmental policy.
Responds in a timely fashion to emergency situations. Calls fire department in the event of fire or certain emergencies and notifies police in case of theft, breaking and entering or other matters requiring notification of police according to policy. Completes all necessary reports and completes investigations as necessary for a resident and/or associate thefts. Responds to and makes reports regarding emergency situations such as accidents and injuries, crimes in progress and safety hazards. Provides assistance, summons proper authorities and polices areas to maintain order, safety and to protect property according to established policy/procedures as measured by staff/resident feedback.
Maintains and updates departmental reports as observed by supervisor. Maintains department records, reports, and files as required per department policy as measured by random review of documentation. Helps prepare reports pertinent to security/parking activities in accordance with department policy/procedure as noted .
Maintains department equipment Assists with care and maintenance of department equpment and supplies per department guidelines as evidenced by random supervisory observation with examples.
Assists Maintenance Department in performing routine safety checks. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies per department guidelines as evidenced by random supervisory observation with examples. Performs routine monthly nursing home checks and building safety checks before monthly deadline , and other duties as required or assigned, as evidenced by supervisors review of written documentation.
