Job Summary

This position will be two days on 1st shift (0600-1430) and three days on 3rd shift (2200-0630). Off days are Wednesday and Thursday.

Position responsible for assisting with the protecting, securing and promoting safety and security at a Memorial Hermann Hospital campus.Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.

  • Licenses/Certifications: 1) Certified as a Certified Healthcare Basic Security Officer by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (if not certified upon date of hire, must obtain certification no more than six (6) months after hire), 2) Must be licensed as a Commissioned Security Officer by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau (if not licensed upon date of hire, must obtain license no more than 90 days after hire)., 3) Possession of a valid driver's license (if from out of state, must obtain a Texas Driver's license within 90 days of employment) , and 4) Must be certified in Heartsaver CPR by the American Heart Association (if not certified upon date of hire, must obtain certification no more than 90 days after hire).

  • Must be able to understand the English language and communicate it effectively in both verbal and written form. Proficiency in the use of computers is required.

  • Must be able to meet Physical Fitness Requirements as outlined in the System Security Physical Fitness Standard (see the Standard for details).

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Monitor assigned areas in a manner assuring maximum visibility of the security presence; post in assigned area or conduct patrols in vehicle or on foot; serving to ensure security of all designated areas and access points; control vehicular access to buildings and parking areas; identify and report all fire and safety hazards, suspicious activities, or breaches of security.

  • Control access of areas and of materials by administering and enforcing building visitor and materials pass programs. Have a complete understanding of hospital, building management, and departmental policies and procedures; post orders and comply with their job requirements at all times.

  • Respond to all security and emergency situations as dispatched or assigned; assist patients, visitors and staff by answering questions and by providing escorts, directions, and vehicle assists.

  • Complete and submit required security reports and activity logs within assigned shift; properly operate and care for Security equipment; maintain knowledge of location and operation of emergency systems and equipment.

  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary Position responsible for the evaluation and rehabilitation of patients of all ages with communication and oral-pharyngeal disorders of functional or neurological origin, in order to facilitate the development and maintenance of human communication and swallowing ability. Documents findings, progress and instruction to patients and caregivers. Serves as resource to Speech Pathologist I. Assists Level III speech pathologists with program development. Provides training and guidance to students and interns.Job Description Location: The Woodlands Hospital Schedule: Four 10's; working Sun-Wed Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited university-based speech/language pathology program and be awarded a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology. Licenses/Certifications: Current license to practice speech/language pathology by the State Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology for Texas. Current certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred. Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Must have at least two (2) years experience. We are unable to consider CF candidates at this time Demonstrated ability and willingness to mentor/train staff or supervise clinical interns. Provides clinical leadership and demonstrative expertise for a particular patient type/group or enhances an existing clinical program for that particular patient type/group. Serves as a clinical resource for hospital and/or system or departmental committee/task force or initiates and/or provides leadership in an ongoing departmental interest/study group. Designs and implements original staff development program which facilitates the clinical competencies of other staff members. The position requires occasional lifting and carrying of up to 30 pounds; prolonged standing; frequent walking, stooping and squatting. Fine hand dexterity, eye-hand coordination, the ability to receive oral and written communication, and to communicate verbally and in writing are also necessary. The visual ability to monitor instruments, computers and equipment, recognize alphanumeric characters, distinguish colors and observe physical characteristics are essential to this position. May serve as Clinical Instructor for Speech interns. * Serves as clinical resource to staff, hospital, schools and the community in general. Acts as clinical instructor to CFY and speech interns.
